Rear hatch door

My rear hatch warning light keeps coming on, but the door is shut. I know its tight because I just slammed it shut.  Whay is it doing this?

Found several threads on-- hummerx club.com-- talking of the door ajar switches going bad. Some say spray it with a little contact cleaner on the plunger and problem should go away. Or replace switch.
