Intake temp sensor

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Several months ago, engine started puking.
Gasping for air or acting like running out of
gas...lack of power under load. Wouldn't
climb a hill. Started fine. Idles beautifully.
Put it in gear, starts out okay. Few hundred
feet...it tells me to go back home..."I'm sick,
turn around!" Fuel pump is new, plugs, wires,
MAP, IAC, TPS, O2,  all new. Filter new. Full
intake gasket and plenum plate qasket
replacement. Well, midas told me to change
intake air temp sensor. I did. 600 miles I was
happy and truck running perfectly with
increased power and gas milage. Then...out
of blue...same symptoms. Gasping choking,
coughing, backfire not as bad, no power.
Changed sensor again...no difference. What
is causing this. Engine code says 23**
Intake temp sensor failure. Why does it keep
failing?

Well if it doen't do it until warm-up, then I would rule out Spark. Now is it Air or Gas......Check easy things first, meaning the Air Intake system.....Check for broken hoses in the Air Intake and throttle. But it seems like you have put a lot into this already. So I am hoping it is not your PMC......??????

Hmmmm.......yep...checked all of the obvious. Total intake rebuild...I am not looking forward to a new brain for this truck. They are spendy. Getting the same model and series is a flip of the coin online part shopping.
