1998 Chevy Lumina 3.1 keeps dying

Asked by GuruDS8BZ Aug 29, 2017 at 07:32 AM about the 1998 Chevrolet Lumina

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 Chevy Lumina that keeps dying randomly.
Sometimes I can drive it all day and it won't do it and
another day it will do it multiple times. It shows code
P0440 evap code and that's all (I didn't think that would
cause the car to die). I have replaced fuel pump. This is
also been on three different tanks of gas bought at three
different gas stations and one is the 100% gas no ethanol I
checked the battery and it says it has a bad cell but has
been working and I haven't replaced it (not sure if that
would effect it) any comments or ideas greatly appreciated.
Oh and sorry for the bad grammar.

Maybe an ignition module? just guessin' but you would have to have a mechanic test it-
