99' Chevy Lumina 3.1

Asked by TBrazill Nov 23, 2018 at 07:34 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Lumina LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My lumina is popping the P0171 code says Bank 1 too lean
and it failed emissions. I used a fuel system cleaner
specific for passing emissions in hopes it would pass but it
did not. Emissions told me the system wasn't ready and
that I needed to do a "power cycle" which will not be easy
since I live in a city. I also had the mechanic that did the oil
change tell me that the code also said it was misfiring (I
have not noticed any misfiring symptoms) so it was most
likely my injector. I know my way around older cars but this
is the first I've had with injectors so I'm not sure exactly
where they are or how difficult it would be to replace it. Any
suggestions, tips or tricks would be greatly helpful
