Can't get car to start?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 Malibu LS 3.1 L I was driving down the highway at about 40 MPH
when without any warning the car just died and rolled to a stop. It turns
over fine but will not restart. No previous problems or warning lights. No
error codes. NO flashing security light. I can start it for a second using
starter fluid. I have replaced the fuel fuse, relay, pump, and filter, and
camshaft sensor. I can hear the fuel pump turn on with the key but have no
fuel or pressure in the rail. I dropped the tank again and sat it next to the
car and plugged the wire harness back in to check the new pump. With the
tank on the ground the pump is working fine with what looks like plenty of
pressure. I took an air compressor and back blew the fuel lines from the
Shrader valve. I put the tank back in, tried it and no pressure at the rail. I
pulled the air intake and checked and have no fuel in the rail. HELP!

Try doing a fuel bleed down test to see if there are leaky fuel injectors. Hook up a fuel pressure gauge and cycle the key on, off until fuel pressure builds up, then with the key off, watch the fuel pressure gauge to see if it drops. It should not drop more than 5 lbs. in a short period of time, like 3 minutes.
