My 1977 chevy impala is  starting not to shift
properly to the next year what should I check first
an these is my first time having a older car!!

I have a 97 Dodge Dakota. Replaced rotor button and it broke when it turned over.Put another one on.It will start but after it runs a few minute it runs rough and losses power and backfires.Did the rotor button breaking knock it out of time I have codes of misfired on 1 3 5.

Latasha of 1977 chevy impala. is it an automatic or standard? if its a standard, check the linkage adjustment or if an automatic, check the modulator..
