Why won't my Mitsubishi start?

Asked by f2fbassist Sep 26, 2022 at 09:03 AM about the 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I accidentally put the battery in backwards, swapped
everything back around and checked every fuse both in
passenger and under hood. The only blown fuse was the
hundred amp under the hood that goes to the alternator.
Replaced that and all the electrical systems have power
and work fine, however when I turn the key I'm unable to
hear if it's priming the engine to start, engine attempts to
turn over fine but nothing actually ignites.

Cranks no start ? Scan for codes , ECM may have taken a hit , check for proper spark , fuel pressure and injector pulse

Your description seems too indicate damage to the fuel system; a blown fuse or relay. If you know enough to listen for the fuel pump to run and you can't hear it; it's not. The engine's turning over, but there's no fuel.
