2001 Mitsubishi Montero sport won't start

I drove my car around the corner and it drove
fine. I went to start the car again to leave
and it won't start. The lights come on and it
turns but won't start. The check engine and
brake lights are on. What could be wrong ?

Unfortunately, it could be a number of things. You will need to start troubleshooting. Does it have spark? Does it have fuel? Does it have compression and timing? You have to systematically check the engine. I doubt it is the ECU.
