how does top let up and down

Motor is behind the back seat, switch is, I believe, on the center console between the seats in this model.

In my 83 convertible , the power top switch is in the lower dash , to the right of the steering column .
On 1988 mustang how do you get the top up the switch is by the. Lights but can not get the top up how do I go about get sum fire to the motor?
