Why does my 2001 chrysler 300m rev on its own and then show the engine oil icon

is it revving while stopped at an idle or during the drive? You might want to join a forum and mention your issue there. You'll get (I hope) great info there much quicker. Your oil light is usually (I would think always) for oil pressure so I hope your pump isn't shot. Anyways, that's why I would join a 300 forum.

While stopped it will revving n the oil icon stayed blinking until I take of again

Interesting. I know idle air control valves can stick open and cause revving issues. Eventually they go bad and stall and won't run. But it could be something different too but idk. I also don't know how that revving issue ties into the oil light being lit.
