Why does the brake light stay on in my 2000 chrysler 300?

The brake light came on in my 2000 Chrysler 300. I checked the parking brake, the fluid
and there is no hard code set.

Try pulling up on the brake pedal. Pedal switch might be out of adjustment or faulty. Unplug brake pedal switch if lights go out replace the switch.

Is the brake light on the dash or are you talking about the actual brake lights in back of vehicle. If it's the one on dash check e- brake switch and also brake fluid level.
