Why won't my Ford 2002 Escape windows/lock work?

Asked by faultyford Jan 09, 2015 at 07:00 PM about the 2002 Ford Escape

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can control none of the four windows of the car from anywhere. I can lock each door
individually, but I can't use any of the functions on the front driver side panel. I checked
the two thirty amp fuses for the windows and locks and they looked good. Any
suggestions?

Did you accidentally lock the windows. That is the switch that is 90 degrees from window switches.

I did not haha! Actually, I resorted to the very primitive but time-proven fix-all and hit the panel where the switches lie a couple times. The lit-up bits on the switches flickered and then the windows worked fine so I figure it's a connection issue.

Yes... "Hit on the panel where the switches lie a couple of times". It seems to have worked for Faulty Ford. (lol)

Bad or loose grounds are always a problem. get a meter and try troubleshooting the switches. You can use a jumper to check the ground.
