Volvo XC60 vs Audi Q5

Volvo’s compact crossover SUV is rapidly aging, but buyers would never know when using the new Volvo Car UX infotainment system. Featuring a larger 11.2-inch touchscreen, Google Gemini integration, and an improved user experience, this SUV is technologically up to date. Adaptive cruise control is standard this year, and Volvo has also improved the wireless smartphone charger.

Verdict: Are the changes to the 2026 Volvo XC60 enough to keep this compact crossover on shopping lists? Possibly not if safety is a top priority. Otherwise, this Volvo is an undeniably appealing, comfortable, and luxurious choice.

A year into its third generation, the Audi Q5 comes out swinging with screens, screens, and more screens in an attempt to hold its position as one of the bestselling compact luxury SUVs in North America. Audi customers and car enthusiasts, however, have panned the company's shift to a derivative exterior design and subpar interior materials. Verdict: Competent but not compelling, the Q5 meets expectations without setting the bar like it did in previous generations.
