Since its debut in 1999, the Escalade had evolved into the epitome of traditional Cadillac luxury, replacing the Fleetwoods and DeVilles of yesteryear. The 2025 redesign further distinguished it from its platform-sharing siblings, the Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon/Yukon XL, with a new front end that aligned it stylistically with Cadillac's electric vehicles. The Escalade's exterior featured large vertical headlights and tall taillights reminiscent of classic Cadillac tailfins, complemented by the introduction of 24-inch wheels, enhancing its imposing presence.

Inside, Cadillac made significant strides to differentiate the Escalade from other GM full-size SUVs. The 2025 model boasted a 55-inch OLED curved display that spanned the dashboard, replacing the previous 38-inch version. Despite its upscale appearance, the Atlas was priced competitively, with the Execline starting at $64,492, significantly less than luxury competitors like the BMW X5. Inside, the Atlas offered quilted diamond-pattern leather seats, metallic accents, and artificial wood trim, creating a warm and inviting environment. The 12-inch touchscreen promised a high-tech experience, although its functionality left something to be desired. The Atlas excelled in providing a spacious and comfortable interior, with standard heated and ventilated front seats and available massage functionality in the Execline trim. However, the use of gloss-black plastic detracted from the overall experience, as it was prone to fingerprints.

The 2025 Cadillac Escalade was powered by a naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8 engine, producing 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. While the diesel option was discontinued, the V8 remained a solid choice, though it fell short of the Lincoln Navigator's twin-turbo V6 in terms of power. While the V8 engine provided impressive acceleration, the brakes lacked confidence, prompting the recommendation of the Performance Upgrade Package, which included Brembo six-piston front calipers.

The 4Motion AWD system performed well in various conditions, though it was primarily designed for pavement. The Atlas's maximum towing capacity of 2,268 kilograms was competitive, though slightly behind the Nissan Pathfinder's limit.

The 2025 Cadillac Escalade offered both short-wheelbase and long-wheelbase configurations, with the latter providing additional cargo space and third-row legroom.
