2025 Cadillac CT5 vs 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid

There aren’t any obvious downsides to buying a new 2024 Accord Hybrid unless you’re familiar with the previous-generation Accord equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. It was legitimately fast, while today’s Accord Hybrid is merely quick enough. The upside is the hybrid model effortlessly returns fuel economy in the mid 5 litres per 100 kilometres range, a worthy trade-off. Better yet, all 2024 Honda Accords in Canada except for the base EX get the hybrid powertrain as standard equipment.

Verdict: In addition to its impressive fuel economy, the 2024 Accord Hybrid is delightful to drive, thoughtfully detailed, and exceptionally practical, thanks to a roomy interior and a huge trunk. A relative bargain in the premium midsize car segment, the 2025 CT5 sedan receives several changes to keep it appealing. Mostly, they pertain to technology, and the new 33-inch display containing digital instrumentation and a new infotainment system is the most obvious manifestation of that. In addition, the CT5 gets more standard and available safety features and driver assistance tech, updated audio, new front-end styling, and a couple of new paint colours.

Verdict: Despite the updates for 2025, the Cadillac CT5 is starting to look and feel like an older car. Also, compared to its rivals, it lacks polish and refinement. However, it is a bargain when cross-shopping it with the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Its tech is impressive, too.
