What owners say
"Overall, Porsche 911 owners are thrilled with the driving experience, describing it as a blend of luxury and unmatched performance. Many drivers rave about the car's handling, power, and the sheer joy it brings during drives. However, some mentioned that it lacks practicality and can be quite expensive, with a few noting the absence of manual transmission options in certain models."
The car did not have a critical, known issues updated. The Audi dealership did not bore scope nor explicitly state the issue (996.2 IMS bearing replacement) status. This would have made the experience a lot less stressful. Since it has not been done the effective price is our negotiated price plus the cost of the service to replace the bearing (and related work); about $5,000 total. The price was competitive, but not strong, given the known mechanical issue. I would have gladly paid more if they booted to do it. That said it was good experience.
July 27, 2025This car is such a thrill to drive. A true feast for the senses. It challenges you to drive it well and punishes you when you don't, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I sold my 86 911 Targa and 04 C4S Cab in order to acquire this car, and am not disappointed at all. It is what I was looking for all along. Go GT3 if you can!
March 19, 2014The Porsche GT 3 is as close to the perfict driving machine as one could imagine. Mine is extremely well optioned, has been trouble free, and looks great, sounds great, and most of all, is a kick to drive. No complaints and all praise.

September 5, 2011More power, higher performance, faster lap times. Top track speed 193 mph. 0-60; 3.8 seconds. Powered by a 3.8-liter flat-six displacement and VarioCam timing. 450 hp at 7,900 rpm. Max torque at 317lb.-ft at 6,750 rpm. Max revs at 8,500 rpm. It has absolutely no problems with it because My Love knows his Porsches. ;) It's good to race all day everyday.
December 13, 2010I've owned several different brands of high-powered sports cars and keep coming back to Porsche. I've owned three, all cabriolets, and all with manual transmissions. I don't drive my 2010 every day, but when I need to really DRIVE somewhere--and the roads are interesting--I click the garage door opener and naturally gravitate to the 911. It's pure joy. In my view, the 2009-2012 911 (997 Generation 2) has the best combination of shift feel, clutch take-up, steering feedback, "right there" brakes, handling dynamics, engine note, seating position and ergonomics of any road car. You literally become "one with the car" (and I'm not being ironic, hyperbolic or intentionally naff). Take one for a test drive and you'll immediately see why people keep buying Porsches over the more sexily designed, yet somehow more brittle and less rewarding competition. If you don't own one and have wondered why Porsche drivers often wear a goofy grin and/or a smug expression, it's not because we're self-satisfied egotists or poseurs... we're just having a blast (thank you very much!).
September 2, 2014Driving this car is like truly brings fourth your animalistic instinct. When I am behind the steering wheel I fell like there are no limits, that there are no boundaries. I can only say that it is the car of my dreams.
May 7, 2011I Love the Porsche 911 gt3, it is ultimate in luxury and speed. The turning and handling is a little stiff so watch out. The Porsche gt3 goes 0-60 in about 3.6-3.8 sec, and a top speed of about 200 makes it a very fun car.
August 6, 2010When you see a 911 there is an instantaneous recognition of 60 years of wins on the track, features on the big and small screen, a certain amount of swag, and a thread back to the days of simple driving for the pure joy of driving. The Carrera is so many things, it is not economical, it is NOT practical, it is not inexpensive, it is not rational. But, I have never been more in love with a material thing , more in love with a car, as I am with my Porsche Carrera. It is the best car that I have ever owned, and I hope that you the reader own one for yourself, and you will then know why feel the way I do. I have owned many cars, I am more than half way through this short life , and there is no car that I would rather own than the Porsche Carrera, the icon. There is no substitute.
May 29, 2021a great car. Lots of fun. lots of power. excellent to drive in any weather but especially fun with the top down. PDK transmission is excellent and really convenient for city driving. Heated and air conditioned seats are also a plus.
January 5, 2015This is an amazing vehicle, the minute i got in it and drove it for the first time, i was taken by the handling and the power this car had. Everyone who can afford it should get it and enjoy the car.
