I loved the Solstice, it’s an awesome vehicle. So why the 3 stars? Well it’s under powered even in the turbo model; had it been brought to us in a v6 or v8 like originally intended it would be an invaluable opportunity for it to be classified as a cheap super car. All around independent adjustable suspension. The potential it nearly limitless.Jul 23, 2021

The Solstice is a valuable part of Pontiacs offerings to the driving pubic. I hope that it will be studied with care by drivers who are seeking new style in the choices available to them in its styling, engineering and performance. Surprisingly it did not have an electric convertible top, was difficult for my wife to put the top up. Otherwise nice except not very responsive in acceleration. Feb 15, 2020

This car was a blast to drive in the city, on the highway, in the country or on the coast. Fuel economy is great, performance is outstanding and styling is superb. Even after having the car for 8 years, we still get looks from people.Dec 12, 2014

I like the simple sexy sporty looking exterior, driver is very close to rear mirror giving excellent visibility, solid construction, great handling on fast sharp curves, very comfortable seat with head rest, powerful air conditioner, hood can be deployed and put back in few seconds.Jun 24, 2014

I love this car but just don't drive it enough. I got a Smart car and I seem to use it the most because I park my Solstice in the garage in front of the Smart car. I do make sure I drive it once a week to keep it running great.Oct 09, 2013

Purchased the car in 2006 received as anniversary present from husband. What a nice surprise. The leather interior looks great and the engine runs smooth. Let the top down and enjoy the ride. Have only taken car in for normal routine checkups and oil change. Have never had any probelms with this car. I'd give it an A+.Aug 24, 2011

Fun car to drive, quality is definately lacking, plastic interior, electrical ploblems and just poor craftmanship, I would definately get the 2009 model, maybe they have most of the problems worked out by then. Or just drop a big turbo in it and blow doors on just about every car on the road.Apr 11, 2010

I love it! It is unbelievable fun to drive, flings around corners beautifully, could be a couple hundred pounds lighter. It needs more horsepower! So far, no problems with the car. :)

Acceleration could be better, but improved with a K&N airfilter and new exhaust system. Handling and brakes are both great.
Never needed repairs, no problems at all!
Very nice and special appearance, will always love it.
In summer time a really fun car to drive!

fun factor is 10. gas millage is approx 30 miles per gallon...performance is great and handles awesome...nice look and ride for a sports car...i like black but it is really hard to keep clean....does not have a lot of room as it is only a 2 seater but i knew that when we bought it......it is a convertable so on a hot or warm day it is nice to cruise with the top down and get a tan at the same time!!!!Jan 02, 2009

I love it. The only thing is I do wish I had leather seats, but I didn't like them the year I purchased the car. They were 2 tone and a bit gaudy. In my province, they put the plate on the front which looks absolutely awful. Tcar looks so much better without it.Aug 10, 2008

It's a stick, convertible and it's black. Need I say more? It's a looker - but it's also a slider. In the winter....it's just too light and slips and slides, even with sand bags in the trunk. Only thing I don't like about it. Otherwise, it's a really sweet ride!Jun 24, 2008

I had a chance to work the little solstice out on GM's test track in Las Vegas. With an Ecotec motor, I wasn't expecting much. What I got was a lot more than I bargained for. The car accelerates almost as hard as a Corvette, and handles almost as well as one too. The interior is pretty tight, if I was a large fellow or tall to any degree, I wouldn't consider purchasing this car. The Ecotec motor delivered mediocre performance, and was extremely noisy with buzzing and vibrations, reminding me of my friend's beat up '03 Sunfire. Handling and braking, however, were top notch. Build quality could be better: I did feel as if the car was not as solid as it could have been. You certainly can't beat the looks of this little roadster, and it's certainly more masculine than the comparable Miata. All in all, definitely a car I'd recommend, and take to the autocross course.Feb 11, 2008

This car is a two-seater so not much room for carrying things but great for someone who
loves to drive and loves small cars. Handles great, looks great, I don't know what else to say
