This car is really dependable - it has no problems with cold weather - starts quickly and always. There are some minor scratches, but overall the appearance is very nice. It is especially cool with the fog lights on. If you're on the highway and need to pass with a tight opening, it never fails to get you in. Great acceleration which really suprised me at first. I put new brake shoes on it a couple of weeks ago. It is a nice car to work on for the regular maintenance - very easy. It has very good steel too, i feel very safe in it - feels solid. Looks a bit futuristic and sporty. Stereo is nice with front and rear speakers, and plays CD's.Jan 19, 2013

Performance - This car performs like any pontiac should. Corners well, accels nice,
stops when I want it too. Build Quality well it would be great BUT GM put the L61
junk eco tec in it and it burnt a valve so I have replace the engine.. Appearance

Very peppy and economical, easy to drive and it looks great and sporty, cheap to
buy and run, build quality could be better and some design aspects aren't the best
but definitely satisfied with my Pontiac and would purchase again.May 02, 2012

As a daily driver around town, this car is great. Has amazing power for having just a little 4 cyl in it. You can never find any part you need in any shops, so you end up having to order everything offline (and even then it’s extremely hard to find anything). Sadly though, everything seems to be cheaply made… and the outside… the smallest thing, makes the BIGGEST dent.Feb 15, 2012

I have had my 05 Pontiac since 2/2009. Love it. It has given me no problems until now. Cute, fun to drive. System sounds great, easy to drive, handles well and looks great driving down the road. would recommend Nov 19, 2011

Overall its a decent car for the price. But you get what you pay for, interior is cheap, both seat backs are busted in some way, It has good power for its size, and is cheap to maintain since i do all my own work.Oct 20, 2011

I loved my sunfire. She's wrecked now. But she was great while I had her. Put a cold air intake on and sports tires which improved the feel of the car. Fairly cheep to fix and maintain. All around great first car. Dec 10, 2010

I love everything about this car. It has great performance. It has excellent handling, braking and acceleration. The cost of ownership would be priceless in my opinion. This car is awesome to drive and it is fun to drive. The appearance of the car is awesome. It is a great car to modify in my opinion. The interior of it looks great and the same goes with the exterior of the car. The build quality is awesome. I have never had a problem with it as far as owning this car. Its small cheap on gas and handles well, to bad pontiac dropped the ball on the engine build quality, and won't fess up to making inferior parts.But throw some decent tires and rims on it and add some aftermarket parts and you have a cheap fun little car to jet around in.Oct 25, 2009

A very economic, "responsible" car. LOVED the paint job - electric blue metallic. Four cylinder was hard to get used to...not much "get up and go," but never had a single engine problem in the two years that I owned. Great car for the money, and overall great money saver.Sep 21, 2009

The performance of the car is awesome, especially with the acceleration, braking, and handling. It handles really well on the roads. The cost of ownership is awesome. This car is really great on gas mileage. It is a fun car to drive too.May 05, 2009

Never was initially a big fan of Pontiac but ended up with this car because it was the best deal i could find. I bought the car at 42,000 miles not really thinking about all the specs...like the 2.2 liter engine that allows for a decent acceleration yet the first few gears are really short whereas you have no power in the higher gears. Within one week of owning the car the check engine light already came on, and when I ran a system diagnostics test it tells me I have a small gas leak. When the AC is on, don't even think about getting good pickup, or having your engine sound good because it makes the engine sound like a toy wind up car.The interior and exterior styling of the sunfire is what I like best about the car besides the fact that it's a coupe. Boy was I wrong thinking that newer cars would have better performance! Overall, if you know how to drive and have fun, this car definately gets the job done.Jul 10, 2008

Good car but too big for a sports car. It runs nicely, doesn't seem to use a lot of gas, has a big 13 gallon tank (I think) that can give u about 350 miles, maybe more but I've never gone all the way to an empty tank.Jun 10, 2008

Even with it's flaws and the damage I dealt to this car, it's been so reliable and it's great on gas. I couldn't ask for anything more. Now it's no Firebird but it's pretty freaking fast if you drive it the right way.Apr 07, 2008

I was looking for an older honda when the car salesman showed me this car... So I test drove it and was surprised. I just knew it wasn't going to be any kind of show car... but it was good on gas and peppy.... 3 years later.. I have to take back what I said. The 2.2L ECOTEC motor that was put into this 05 sunfire has alot of options.... turbos, superchargers, and the block is the same one used in all the major pontiac compact sports cars it can handle up to ~1000 HP.Mar 21, 2008
