I bought a 2002 2.2 Liter ecotec Sunfire with 90k miles for $2,200.00 So far I fixed the brake line, rotors, pads, tune up. That cost $1,100.00. Then got the antifreeze drained and replaced. That cost $140.00 Got a oil change that cost with 5w-30 synthetic. That cost about $40.00 Then bought 2 tires and rotated the old ones to the front that cost $100.00 Then bought Monroe Quick struts front and back from Rock Auto. They cost 305.00 the labor to install was 300.00 for a total of 605.00 Got a wheel alignment front and back for $120.00 Then bought a Remy 115 amp alternator from Rock auto that cost 109.00 plus labor of 65.00 for a total of 174.00 Then had the Window motors on the front drivers and passenger side plus a muffler put on. That cost like 620.00 Ive put alot of money in this car about 2179 plus the purchase price 2200 for a total of 4901.00.. Car runs good now. I got it cause the miles were low and the price was low. I think it is worth 5,000.00. Had the car for 4 months. Ill keep you posted. Jul 08, 2022

This car looked kinda nice back in the day when I owned it but it was an absolute lemon. The engine went out at 70,000 miles and was replaced with a $1500 one. That too died as soon as the warranty was up, like, literally 100 miles later, lol, and the mechanic obviously didn't want to honour it. I ended up selling the POS for $600 when the KBB was over $4000 had it been running. I was always really nervous about driving this car because it broke down ALL the time. It was so bad that I should have bought a tow-dolly instead of renting one to get the jalopy home. Nov 16, 2014

Performance - Acceleration; fairly good for stock. Braking; good, front are shoes, back are drums. Handling; great for a front wheel drive. Build Quality - I have done several repairs, but I also bought it used. Spark plugs, brakes, tires, sunroof, radio speakers, muffler, oil filter, handbrake, and replaced the engine. Appearance - It's a 2 door coupe, very sleek. Back seats don't have very much room for a full sized adult. Cost of Ownership - 30/35 mpg through city and 45mpg on highways. Maintenance; very low. Fun Factor - It rides low to the ground so cutting corners in 3rd gear is easy. Mine is a 5 speed standard with a 2.2 litter engine, straight 4 cylinder.Feb 09, 2013

the car still run perfectly even there's some problem on the under chassis. still need to fix the driver side window. need to replace windshield washer hose. and windshield too. ala in all the car still in good shape. engine still last for couple of years.Dec 29, 2012

I purchased this car with my own money and did not like it at first. I really wanted a truck. The car then changed my mind. The comfortable ride that it offered with the adjustable volume when you slowed or accelerated the speed was awesome. The car took the heat of living in Dallas as well. Performance - Acceleration is best from 2nd to 4th. Braking is great with front disk brakes and back drum brakes working as one. Handling is outstanding with front wheel drive pulling instead of the rear wheel drive pushing. Appearance - The sunroof provides extra aerodynamics with the stock spoiler. - acceleration is slowish. - braking and handling is mint. - has a wining noise and in need of a fuel pump maybe - interior is decent. exterior is ok just a few dents and shitty paint job from old owner.. - great for gas milage and comfort accept in the back seat..May 24, 2011

Its a good riding car in the summer, awesome heater in the winter, just sits to low to the ground for where I live. If in city it would be a great car! Rides smooth, sometimes to smooth as you are going down the road and you think you are going 55-60 and you are going 75. Thats when cruise controll would be handy,Dec 11, 2010

Definitely lacking in the power department, but is a peppy economical daily driver. Has great handling, and is very comfortable.Is a car that can easily hold its own in an autoX and gets respect at the drag strip. Gets over 30 mpg and is sexy as hell. She's my babySep 29, 2009

Sporty car, but handling is kind of too smooth. Performances are ok for an automatic. The real problem was lack of reliability, this car is literaly falling appart. Though it was fun to drive anyway. Loved the engine sound. Don't by it from a dealer, you'll be screwed!Sep 04, 2009

Performance improves with a good quality exhaust system, also picked up a few points in fuel mileage. DRL sucks have had many issues with that, and the driving lights/fog lights. Asside from normal maintainance nothing out of the ordinary YET. The car is fun to drive, I picked it up just for a daily driver, to from work and use my mini-van for vacations etc. The kids love the car since I upgraded the sound and exhaust. Jul 22, 2009

This car handles really well. It it a very solid car. It has a very sleek look. I think it got 26 mpg and it has over 267km with no major problems. It has lost a bit of its power with its age but it is still fun to drive.Jul 18, 2009

It's a peppy car, with pretty good handling, decent mileage, been in the shop for some of the normal repairs, was cheap to buy and insure.The interior has a good look about it, and a nice feel. Overall it's a fun car to drive, but not so fun to maintain. If I were to do it again, I'd sacrifice the interior looks and go for the Cavalier insteadMay 17, 2009

nothing wrong with it, accept the brakes wear out fast... although ts common with cars of its style... (cavy's and sunfires alwasy have brake problems) its shiny, and a modified /custom interior.May 20, 2008

2000 pontiac sunfire. had a 2.2L 4cylinder engine. 78K miles.two door, plenty fun to drive. great color[green metallic pear]. very comfortable interior great speakers and radio. front disc brakes, rear drum brakes.it had dash neons. plenty of trunk space. sunroof. in sept. 07 i was t-boned by a driver that ran a red light. from then on it was totalled. he hit my drivers side door right at the door brace/ handle(which saved my life).Jan 17, 2008

Started off with a base model Sunfire GT. Easy to find aftermarket parts that fit well. Custom made fibreglass hood, unique body kit and wing. Nitrous (Zex) was simple to install. 3" drop and 20" wheels fit awesome even though people said I was nutz for trying. Racing buckets, MOMO steering wheel, red neons underneath (too bad we can't actually use them unless parked) and many other little goodies. Eclipse sound system - (2) 12" subs, 2 amps etc.. We did the paint & body so I can brag a bit about how happy I am with it. This was a nice, clean, solid car to modify. Certainly not a unique or expensive car but it most definatley shows what can be done.Jan 10, 2008

Not a whole lot to say other than I love it. Compared to the other cars I've had, it's rather comfortable as long as you're not an overly huge person. It handles well enough and rides pretty smooth. Come this winter I wasn't sure what to expect when driving in the snow, and I've been pleasantly surprised. I feel safer driving in the snow.Dec 23, 2007
