This is a nice car if someone is looking for an old analog driving experience. There’s not a l lot of low in grunt you’ll have to keep the Revs way up there to get any power. It is a very good balanced roadster.Feb 28, 2024

This is a nice car if someone is looking for an old analog driving experience. There’s not a l lot of low in grunt you’ll have to keep the Revs way up there to get any power. It is a very good balanced roadster.Feb 28, 2024

Bought a used 2001 at auction in 2005, loved this car from the first time I saw it in a Honda Showroom.,owned it two years and flipped it for what I paid for it. Picked up this Honda lease return with 15000 miles in 2007 and drive it April to October . It's like getting a new lease,on life every April. Nice being a 30 year old again.Jul 11, 2014

I bought my 2005 S2000 two years ago as weekend fun car. It has been a blast to drive and tinker with. There are tons of aftermarket parts available for it as well as S2000 specific forums to gain information from. The car is light, rear wheel drive and has plenty of power to play with. Maintenance is easy and cost is average. Great bang for the buck!Feb 15, 2013

Handling with lowered suspension!! Everything about this car is mint....the interior, the engine bay, the outside appearance, the clean lines....i definetly recommend lowering the s2000 and putting on an aftermarket exhaust system. Greddy Ti-C is my recommendation and Tein Type Flex for coilovers!!!Jan 17, 2011

It is a very fun car, but with that come sacrifices lol. I'd have to say my favorite part about it is probably the appearance, that and how it sounds though a tunnel with the top down lol. What I hate is the fact that if it snows or anything along those lines it becomes completely useless, but what do you expect from a rear drive sports car. Jan 02, 2010

pure driver's car, with one single purpose in mind,
good chassis stiffness for an open top car,
most parts are easy to work on,
not much modification needed to be driven on track for a
whole day with consistency,
one of the best shifter, dare to say better than Porsche's so
called "the best shifter in the world"

Amazing handling with great agility. Lightweight makes for weaving perfect. Engine is made very well. After 6000 RPM car roars. Transmission is very smooth. Maintenance is nothing to worry about. Truly an amazing piece of engineering for its time. Great.Sep 02, 2009

Very, very fast, very, very little car. A modern take on a MGB but with real performance (240 hp) and Honda Reliablity. A blast to drive but noisy on the freeway commute.

I miss her... Everything about her was that of the AP1, which I currently own, and then some. The engine didnt have as much RPM (down from 9k to 8,200) but was bored and stroked to yield more low end torque. Jul 14, 2009

Small passenger compartment, not fast enough in a
strait line, it's only a two seater, but its affordable and
so much fun to drive! The car turns heads impressed
people on the race track. It holds up to all the abuse

Amazingly fun to drive. You could hear Vtec stock. Backend kicked out stock if you side stepped the clutch, but handled great otherwise. Could use more low end power but it revs to 9 so that makes up for everything.Jun 07, 2009

car is amazing and revs to 8k. 240 hp out of a na 4 cylinder is ridiculous. solid car with great steering response, road feel, turning radius, and maneuvering abilities. best 6 speed manual transmission with short, easy, and smooth shifts and a great clutch. cockpit is made for the driver with most controls right next to the steering wheel. not too many gadgets, race car feel with just what is needed including ac and decent radio/cd player and gotta love the digital tachometer and speedometer. dislike the clutch delay valve but it saves the drive train so its a trade off and the lack of low end torque but never had any actual problems. great gas mileage and awesome convertible that turned out to be pretty economical.Jul 26, 2008

Just what I tell everyone. Drives like a go-cart. Has it's disadvantages but it's a a true sports car. It's fun, zippy. Not the fastest thing on the street but killer on a road track.May 26, 2008

After having owned 2 MGBs, a 1964 Austin Healy Sprite, a Fiat 124 Spider, and a 1959 MGA, I bought a 1995 Miata off the showroom floor. After over 10 years and almost 150K, it came time to replace it, and I picked a silver 2005 Honda S2000 off of the showroom floor. It has been a fantastic car. One of the best handling cars I've driven. The engine allows 26 mpg wandering around the city and suburbs, economy and excellent handling at low revs. When the engine revs -- all 237 horses kick in, and the car comes into its own. Progressive power, excellent cornering, fantastic brakes, and all of the feedback you'd want from a sports car. For those of us who remember the Triumph GT6 or TR6, this may be the modern, handling equivalent. Fun to drive, fun to autocross, and as a Solo car, a delight. This is a driver's car, you do not have to take your hands off the wheel to adjust the radio volume or A/C-Heater fan switch. At over 6 feet, I am comfortable in the car. After a 12 hour drive down I-95 to Daytona for the 24-Hour, I got out of the car, without aches, pain, or discomfort. The SUV wears me out on I-95, but not the S2000. I've heard that Hondas are appliances, well this appliance just happens to be a lot of fun, while retaining reliability, solid feel and construction, looks, and intelligent design.May 20, 2008

While it would not be the perfect choice for someone who drives for an hour in stop and go traffic both ways to work, the s2000 is one hell of a car. With a 2.2L naturally aspirated in-line four making 240 horsepower, a gearbox that many say is one of the finest ever made, and amazing handling aided by the 50-50 weight distribution, the s2000 is the essence of Honda technology.
