The LS1 was a game changer and it put Corvette back on top. The C5 may be the best looking Corvette in history in my humble opinion. The connection to the road and precision isn’t quite up to Porsche 911 standards but for roughly half the price it’s awful damn close. Aug 22, 2023

I bought my 2000 Corvette Convertible three summer’s ago and it’s a great sports car . Especially now that these cars prices are going off the roof , it’s gone up $6000 in price . Great car for the price , fast and you can upgrade the cold air intake and for a few more dollars put in a nice cam & headers and you Just put in another 100 hp for under $1000 . Have owned two C5’s and now have a C6. Like the way the C5 drives better. C6 has a heavier feel. Only issues I have experienced was oil pressure switch seems to be an inherent problem with the C5’s, and seat rocking about 1/4” . A few creaks in the coupe roof in cold weather, but other than that, it’s a wonderful car. Plan on buying another C5 Cvt. next year to compliment the C6 coupe.Nov 19, 2022

more headroom, easier to get in and out than older vettes. love the dash and instruments, rides smoother, handles better. i have that 2000 vette and it is a very good car.

Every time I start it up, Shut the front door!!
Kicking myself for not making this a priority for myself sooner.
3 days, 3 people yelled, love/like your car!
So tight! Great value, previous owners were obviously fastidious.
For a 2000, the tech is so great!! Must have been so ahead if its time.

The C5 Corvette is a true sports car even in a base package. Very few cars could even come close to the C5 and nothing at the price point. Still a fun fast enjoyable ride. Apr 24, 2021

Bought my wife her very last car which is a red 2000 Coupe automatic with removable roof and hatch with huge storage area. We loved it. So I decided to get one for myself to autocross and enjoy.
I found myself this 2000 car with Convertible, 6 speed, Z51 handling package and only 61K miles on a 15 year old car. The HOD is awesome with a shift light too. PO had installed Euro front and rear (tiger shark) fascias which make the car totally unique. This is as sold in EU for Autobahn use with required downforce. Looks very aggressive. Very seldom see one like this and I love the Metallic Pewter color with the black top and interior.
So far the only issue with our C5's has been the turn signals stopped working on both cars. Simply repeatedly pushing the emergency flashers on and off 25 or times in rapid succession has fixed both cars. It's time consuming to replace that $30 combined switch.
We like the C5 with the covered headlights better than the C6 with the plastic lens covers that always get cloudy here in FL sun.
Both our cars get 27-28mpg @ 75mph cruising speed in OD. The 3 in-trunk covered storage bins are very useful and "secret" from prying eyes on both coupe and convertible models.
There is only one cupholder but don't put anything in there without a cap on it. These cars handle and ride better than you would ever imagine. Turn off the traction control or put mine in Competition Mode and go on a track to look like a pro. This car weighs only 100lbs more than my RX8 with 345HP and 350 torque. One cannot put more power than that to the ground so rolling the throttle on is important to learn or just leave the traction control on and wear out the rear brakes.Dec 22, 2014

My car always attracts so much attention. It is a rare color and not many were ever made in the Nassau Blue. After owning another sports car manual drive for 15 years, I loved the automatic. It has so much power, it will put you in back seat.

There is nothing I dislike about this car; the performance is top of the line, it handles and accelerates like a sports car should. It's sporty, classy, and it makes peoples heads turn.
The ride is great with top off or on, and in 6th gear you are making money!

This car compared to other foreign model sports cars is unsurpassed in all respects. The value for the money is uncomparable. The amount of miles you can travel with the 6-speed manual on a tank of gas is incredible. I took a 4200 mile trip, running at an average of 80-95 miles an hour with a top speed of 177 miles per hour and still averaged 30.4 miles per gallon. How can you beat that?Oct 26, 2012

Fast, fun, hard on gas mileage, typical American car of the early 2000. Detroit union made. Some inferior workmanship and subsequent reliability of parts. Replaced the air conditioner and power steering unit.

350 hp and 350 lb torque very fun and entertaining car. Rides great and surprisingly gets any where from 26 to 24 mpg. The convertable top is very simple and easy to use, not to mention looks great. Bose sound system is also great.May 08, 2012

This is my second Corvette. The first one I had was an automatic with well over 100K and I used it for a daily driver. It was a great car and all of my friends who also own Corvettes kept telling me you need a manual. Well, I purchased this one and I love it except for the fact I have to change gears. I get all the gear changing I want in the trucks at work. When we are out for a Sunday afternoon cruise I just want to put it in gear and go.

This is by far the most fun car that I have ever owned. It is way fast and still gets about 28 miles to the gallon on the interstate. There is nothing like a convertible vette to cruise in on nice days with the top down. Jun 19, 2010

mileage and fun to drive. Very inexpensive to own. I
bought it new and it now has 55,000 on it. Rear end
has a minor leak still haunting me after it was fixed

I think the C5 Corvette is one of the best cars you can buy for the money. It is responsive and sure footed in almost anything you can throw at it. I think it is one of tne best looking cars you can buy with styling and looks comparable to much more expensive Exotics with the performance to match with out the high cost of maintenance. Very expensive to own and maintain. I plan on having it forever so I have plenty of time.

350 horses and over 350 lbs of torque to the rear wheels
so much fun to drive, if i could i would get one of the newer ones
an expensive car to own but it was totally worth it
the tires are huge, they will run you about 2 grand for a set of tires. i recommend that one would get a set for winter and one for summer

The Corvette is a great car. Looks great outside and had awesome performance and handling. It's extremely fun to drive and would recommend to anybody. Although it is a V8, it gets good gas mileage and can be anyone's daily driver. However, the interior is cheap and tends to need a lot of attention to keep it decent.
