I love this car! Even with the V6 engine, it pulls hard from 1,9000 to 3,000 RPMs and can easily smoke the all-season tires from a stop. It must not have ABS because the brakes will lock up in a pinch. I've tested the gas mileage various times and consistently get 23 MPG city and 33-34 MPG highway with the 5-speed manual transmission. It now has 166,000 miles on the odometer and I've never had major engine repairs necessary. A slight amount of plastic in the interior is the only drawback I see. I added an after-market spoiler for the sake of appearance...but it could use new lifter arms for the trunk since it was originally not equipped for the added weight of the spoiler. It's fun to drive and the factory cruise control makes highway driving easy. There are a few squeaks and rattles now, but considering mileage I'm not complaining. One thing to consider is that it does not come with grease ports for the front axle joints. This has developed a squeak problem when the outside temperatures get over 80 degrees. Overall, it's a great car and I recommend it in every way!

Mostly stock great solid car takes alot of abuse. Mine has cold air intake, tuned, 3.73 rear end, magnaflow 2-1/2 exhaust x-pipe no cats. great car to start a real street machine. A little pricey to mod but well worth it!

The best way to sum up the old girl is... It was was it was. It was a fun car with the ragtop, tire smokin V8, leather seats and all that... and it was fast. Never found top end, but I know at 130mph it had more on the table. For being a GT model I was surprised at low quality parts Ford used. The plastic intake manifold surpised me when it came undone one day. But hey, it was a sweet car for cheap money.

It's not the fastest mustang out there but its got shape to it. It can be modified and improved if u had the money and time to do it. Its a great car as long as its made by ford.

looks good, handles good w/ decent power isn't good on gas but gets the looks with its different color, their are many upgrades that can separate u from every other mustang out their. its a fun car to drive and built pretty solid

Acceleration-depends on how heavy your foot is, cuz it'll throw you back in your seat if you want it to. Handling-goes anywhere you want it to, wherever you turn the wheel it'll follow. Appearance-aggressive, fast, pure muscle, inside and out Fun Factor-crazy fun to drive, especially if you like weaving in and out of traffic, and going fast.

its a fun car to drive, runs well, needs a little work but i'm getting it done, the interior is a little shot but i'm workin on that, but all in all its a good car and i love my mustang

Performance - great acceleration, good brakes, good handling Build Quality - under construction. Great car so far Appearance - Very simple interior and stock has an ok exterior... Headlights and tailights are a must to replace and it makes a huge difference. Cost of Ownership - 17mpg city but hasn't had any breakdowns yet Fun to drive! Easy to drift

i think that the car looks great and drives great as well and the interior is really clean.

This was a good car but slow! with catback exhaust, intake, and superchips programmer it ran a 14.9 1/4 mile.... it came with a T-45 5speed transmission, that BLOWS. they are known for syncro problems, i blew 2 transmissions out of this car, the first one lost second gear and the second one, in a race i broke the shift fork for 3rd and 4th gear! if you buy this car UPGRADE THE TRANSMISSION TO A T56!!!

215 hp for a "sports" car is not enough in my mind. It is still fun and American. It is cheap to own. It was only $8000 with very low miles and it is very fun to drive and smoke the tires.

Overall it's a pretty good car, it drives smoothly for the most part, its body is in pretty good shape. However the previous owner put a few dents and scratches in it so it could use a paintjob, but the previous owner also installed an alarm system and a stereo system which were left in the car at the time I bought it. It also shakes a little between 55 and 60 miles per hour, but other than that acceleration is very smooth.

Good little car to get around in. Got a decent amount of power, and sounds awesome with its flow master exhaust. It's a five speed manual trans. with a 4.6 L engine. within a couple years, it will have a 383 in it though. The body has been fixed up since the picture was taken. The front bumper is fixed, but there are minor scratches on the body. eventually the body will be all repainted.

I bought this car wrecked and had to rebuild the front of it. I put a cobra front bumper on it and wheels off of a 2005 mustang. I loved this car until I wrecked it.

love the look. hate the [fix.and repair daily part] but its a good car overall as long as you know how to run it. Put to much money into it. and its one hell of a car to drive. :) i have fun with it anyways..

A wonderful year for Ford Mustang. I love the sleek and low design. The V6 was reasonably peppy and very reliable. That was mostly due to regular maintenance and the good car care from Yocum Ford. Did have to redo the wheels recently.

the car runs and drives great looks good very reliable powerfull v8 thats not to bad on gas it was made in amerca by americns has lots of room in the trunk it lasts along time fast car cheap sports car

its ok in the preformance area. it could have some more power and torque but hey, thats what the gts are for. its pretty reasonable for a sports car that are presumed to be owned mostly by girls. the car is very fun to drive.

the car is amazing. It def gets attention. With a few custom things added to it like exhaust paint color sound system and some engine tweeking you would be very satisfied. I love it. Ima mustang girl all the way :)

I love my Mustang the only problems with it are things that I've done to it.... Like getting in a accident... It's a really beautiful car the only reason mine looks off is because of the white door on the passenger side because of the accident.... It's a really fun car to drive it goes really fast for a little V6 it still run very well considering it's almost 12 years old and I've put it through it's far share of beatings....

I love my car, she is perfect for what I need! I am someone who needs power but is on a budget. Luckily, I found my '97 V6 for $3,600. The gas is what you'd expect compared to a 4 cylinder but compared to a V8, it's heaven. I get American muscle without the debt for gas. It hasn't been too awful to maintain either but there are always parts that you want to buy.

i love my 97 its a great car has over 200k miles it still runs like a crap the body all beaten up but it wants under the hood that matters the V6 has good bit of power the car as a little bit leg room meaning not fat guys can drive it but that a good thing very little issues with it just all around great car

This car is great. Fast and fun to drive. Fun for friday nights to take to the track. It is pretty affodable as I got a great deal on this one. If you like speed and attention from your cars this is one I would recommend.

Fun car, but the V6 doesnt do it justice

My car is a 1997 and thats the first year of the 4.6 and don't think they had all the kinks worked out yet. Slowly I am fixing everything that was wrong with it when I bought it about a year and a half ago.

I had the car for 108000, spent a total of <$2000 over 8 years in repairs. Excellent value! If I knew then what I know now, this car would have been a MONSTER! I will own another Mustang...eventually, except it'll be Elanore.
