i like that it doesnt waste much gas and i dislike that is not a gsx but other than that i like everything else the car doesnt give me any problems at all the only time it goes to the shop is to get the oil change and its service thats itJun 02, 2012

love the car, it handles great, it has plenty of power and torque, enough to cause
torque steer on hard launches, it's really fun to drive, as long as the turbo holds
together!!! get an upgraded turbo and ditch that stock Garrett T-25 for something
better and you'll have a great car =)Dec 14, 2010

It is pretty decent. Accelerates pretty decent and handles decent. It looks pretty sweet which is a plus. Has 18 inch rims on it. Turbo sounds sweet and so does the exhaust. Completly rust free. It could use some work though.Oct 15, 2010

Build Quality: Lots of repairs done, still need a few more.
Car Comparisons: Scion TC, Nissan 240sx, Toyota Supra, Honda Civic. bought the eclipse cause it was cheap and working.
Performance: Very Great! doesnt shake or require much steering, has some balls.

Build Quality: amazing fixed all that needed to be fixed and never had to leave he on the side of the road all but once cause of a flat

Handles like a charm..love shifting through the gears and hearing my car speak to me! The only two things trhat need repairs are the passenger side window and the muffler gasket. Looks like the sexy beast it is. and this car is the BEST thing to drive around in!Nov 12, 2009

Performance is very good make you want to add more stuff to it, can be cramp in the back seat, sexy look, cheap if you work and give an average of 270 MPG, pull very strong and make you want to step on the gas.Nov 09, 2009

First thing, How much stuff is available to customize it. It has a great sporty look to it. The tail lights are different. Its very easy for a do it your self jobs, everything can be taken off and replaced very easyily Aug 14, 2009

good acceleration, brakes and handling i need to repaint mine going with solid black umm.. hand brake is fun power sliding drifting all that good stuff, interior is easy to clean and confertible, 25 mpg town 32 mpg highway, so i say get itAug 05, 2009

Quick acceleration, Turbo sound is the reward for shifting.
Build Quality is not as neat and clean as those of Honda or Toyota. There is no other car out there that can trace what the 97-99 Eclipse had.

I like the way the eclipse looks, and with some upgrades they are very fast. They also handle very well being low to the ground. It is very fun to drive wether you are cruising through town or flying down the strip.Jul 02, 2009

its a pain in the ass but i love it, if u dont blow the motor they are relativly cheap to maintain and to make them faster!!! mad fun at the track...well kinda haha

FUN FUN FUN. Small engine with surprising power. will
stomp a Civic without v-tec. Fast acceleration, and fun
all around. The engine is in the process of rebuild. The
paint has some defects but that will be fixed before it

This car has a 2.0L 4 cyl. engine so your not gonna take it to the track.
but it is rather quick simply because its small. It handles quite well for
that reason as well. It does not have the best build quality. Every month
another repair needs to be made. Appearance is this car's best quality. It
looks fun and sporty and is easily customizable. cost of ownership is not
the greatest. frequent repairs make it quite costly. It is a very fun car to

I need to fully rebuild the car so I can like it better than it is. It is a working progress. Had to replace the engine on it due to me ragginf it out, but other than that it was a fun car to drive and got me around alot.Jul 20, 2008

It is a great car for not too much money, although theyre hard to find in good condition the extra effort is worth the results. The car performs great just off of the lot, but putting in minor upgrades can up the performance for pretty cheap! Definatly a real head turner, do not buy one if you dont like people constantly looking at your car.Jun 11, 2008

Great car for anyone single. Awesome on gas. Interior is pretty spacious in the front, not so much the back. Alot of trunk space. I love the way everything wrapped around the driver and was in quick reach. If you as a short throw shifter it makes a big difference in the acceleration. The one drawback i had was the steering. Not a good radius.May 29, 2008

The car is very nice, but DSM's are very difficult to work on. The turbo spools at about 2500 rpm and it sounds amazing. There are plenty of parts out there to help you make it yours, but not a lot needs to be done.Apr 12, 2008

This was my first car, Began modifying the intake an exhaust etc.
Eventually had every performance bolt on there was. loved it, very efficient little car. eventually outgrew it when I can no longer get traction in 3rd.Mar 31, 2008

I had an auto tranny in my 97' and it held up fairly well considering the amount of power the car put out on a mostly stock 7 bolt. I blew the motor after reaching around 300hp and a bad tune. The car looked amazing and was a blast to drive especially on the interstate with a decent sized turbo and cams. I loved this car and hated when it was totalled and I ended up with a 95. Mar 26, 2008

Got 230000 miles out of my Betty Sue, it was a thrill when it first came out, taught me the meaning of 'joy ride'. If you take care of it, it should last you a long time, I did regular maintenace, using full synth oil three times a year and premium fuel. I only put on minor modifications like a K&N air filter and Blitz blow off value. There was turbo lag I noticed during it's latter years. The last three years I noticed the panelling falling apart and other interior items seemed to be made of cheap material. The AWD was nice in the winter and rain. Overall it was a fun car to drive and had some good times with it. Always a crowd pleaser. I will miss it. Jan 27, 2008
