for what it was, it was a GREAT 4-door family sedan. it was pretty darn good
stock, and anything i did to it modification-wise was just to enhance the fun factor.
the stock brakes are actually very good ( and fun because NO ABS! :D ). for a
+15yr old car it held up pretty well. only things that i can think of that i had
problems with were electrical, but of course any old car will begin to show signs of
wear and problems will arise if one doesn't keep up with maintenance. overall
though, this was a FANTASTIC first car... i miss it so much! :/Oct 20, 2011

she is pretty old, but still runs great with V6 and has a smooth manual transmission..it runs like a V8 machine..did front drifting few times..i dont like the audio system at all..recently put sony mp3 player, thinking to install couple of speakers and subs too..Oct 21, 2010

it was my second car, had really good protental, build wise lots out there, a buddy of mine had one with suspension headers an full exhaust, made me wish i still had mine, i put the car threw hell an it kept on going ran strongOct 07, 2010

I paid $450.00 for my car... for what I paid for my last car (a Volvo S80 T6) I could

It's your run of the mill daily driver. With 190hp/205tq, it has adequate performance. Currently has 265K on it and still running strong (original engine and tranny). Plan on keeping it around for a while longer...maybe even give it to my daughter (maybe!).Mar 12, 2010

This car is a good car to drive. It is a bit of a handling change, coming from my last maxima, Which had 4-wheel independent suspension, as opposed the Ibeam rear this car has. However, you gain back what you lose in handling in overall performance and comfort.Jan 13, 2010

The car runs clean. its a black beauty. Quality is amazing 95 an running. 212hp and turns great. Didnt cost me much just 3k for a new engine bacuse sis let the engine get water. Fun factor seems to be ok!Dec 31, 2009

Decent performance, better than most and with teh 5 spd manual it was good on gas and fast out of the lights. You could be a real stop light racer if you wanted to, but I am getting too old for that now.Nov 05, 2009

The nissan maxima comes with about 200 for this year, but only weighing 2800lbs without a weight reduction, the does 0-60 stock in about 6.5-6.9 seconds and is widely modifiable. a few simple modifications and bolt ons alone allow this car to become a 13 second 4 door sports sedan. many of the mods include the use of a Y pipe which allows the removal of the pre cats and raising the downpipes diameter from a little over an inch up to 3 inches produces a dyno proven 20-30fwhp.
this car has been my favorite out of the cars ive owned, and driven. Its sporty, yet luxurious, sleek for its time, easy to fix, and its underestimated Sep 19, 2009

awesome performance, 0-60 in 6.3 seconds, 30 mpg highway, doors are a little thin (tinny), handles quite well, roomy, but no folding rear seat. great value, rock solid reliability, 143K before somone rear-ended me and totaled it! super car! woudl buy one again isf they still made them!Jul 02, 2009

130,000 miles on it. Great appearance, and very fun
to drive. Pretty good on gas mileage, and only needed

It is fourteen years old. So it isnt the best in the world. The heated seats take a while to warm up as well as the air conditionor takes awhile to get cool. It doesn't have the best gas mileage, its not bad either, its just an average day car.Apr 30, 2009

this car is known throughout the world as one of the very
first four door sports cars... and ive tested every single
theory about it... it handles beautifuly, accelerates like a
dream, comfortable, 18 gal tank meaning with the prices
the way they are today 30 tank fill up has every luxury
item you can ever "need"... spacious and she keeps
running no matter what!
HOWEVER- when its time to fix her up, parts are hella
expensive... insurance isnt too bad on someone with a
clean record, all black leather interior is horible on the
booty in the sweltering heat of the summer
all in all through all my differences i would definatly
suggest this car to anyone who can maintain it. male and

It has power for 3.0 L V6 5 speed trans. handling is good . Braking is also good . yes it did need it reapairs but Mantenance vise. Appearance is good , Leather, Sunroof, Heated Seats what more do you need. It is fun to drive when its 5 speed manual .Dec 24, 2008

The mid 90's Nissan Maxima was a SUPER car. Not only was it a fast family four door but also a good luxury car. I never found another car that came close that was in the same category. If it wasn't for some crazy driver that hit the car in the front left corner of the car.. I would still be driving this great car. This was - hands down - the best car I have ever owned.Sep 18, 2008

This car is amazing! It runs well, performs great, and will last for ever. It has over 180,000 miles on it and still runs great. This car, for me, was a very cheep buy. Because it was in an accident beforehand. The only downside is that it's gas mileage is a little on the low end... It is not the worst though.Sep 10, 2008

its comforatable nice interior pretty fast but if your wanting to buy one of these cars make sure its been taken car of or it will nickel and dime you to death. its fun to drive espescially when u put speakers in it it gets pretty loud and its not to loud on the outsideAug 29, 2008

The Maxima made a modest 190 HP when revved up, but I could get 31 mpg in the summer and at least 26 in the winter. The Maxima was perfect for long trips. I got it with 186,000 mi and owned it until 290,000 mi when I gave it to my sister, who eventually traded it in. It never had mechanical faults, it just required general maintenance. This will probably always be the best car I owned for the price.Aug 26, 2008

I love my maxima. It has 160k on it, and I get 28 mpg combined city and highway if I drive it easily. I had the car doing 130 in Nevada back in 2007, no problems! I drive the Maxima daily since it is the most economical of my 3 cars.
Bose stereo sounds great, and car has great power for what it is. Also, I enjoy that it is a manual with options (leather, sunroof, bose, etc).Aug 26, 2008

Overall, the acceleration and handling are awesome, it is a really easy car to drive. Its had its share of minor repairs, mostly the brakes (my mom loves holding down the pedal on hills), so they get replaced every few years.
Usually i get about 30 - 35 MPG with it, so no complaints there. I love this car, and I like that it has lasted up to me... it kinda has 400,000 miles on it. oh well, i hope it lasts!Aug 20, 2008

Faster than most of yours. Love the sound system. Love the leather. Could use better tires and suspension but still a fun car to throw around. Its not cheap to keep at the moment as it passes 150k (a hard 150k) on the odo. It will be a shame when we get rid of it. Aug 01, 2008

bought this car in the summer of 2005 for $600.. i currently have over $8,000 in replacement and performance upgrades.. still have to do a little suspension work an body work yet.. mechanically just need to get my fuel pump, injectors, and supercharger idler pulley done!May 17, 2008

I liked this Maxima, but the longer I owned it the more it felt like a family car. As a single guy I wasn't interested in looking like a family man. I needed something more flashy with better horsepower. This car is rather bland and lacking sheer performance. I had it about 4 years before the engine dropped a cylinder and faced the prospect of replacing the engine or replacing the car.Oct 01, 2007
