This was my first car. It sent me down the road of performance. I did the basic mods of intake, headers, exhaust and ECU. Didn't get to do anything else but it was great when I had it and I still think about it nowadays even though I haven't had it since 2000-2001. It got me from point a to point b. It was fun. I loved drifting it when I had the chance. I could also put that I had so many plans for the car that I wished I had done. Suspension work, wheels, more power either LSX, SR20DET, RB25DET, etc. I don't know if I will ever get her out of my mind.Mar 26, 2015

Great car for spirited driving on Canyon roads, drifting, and or circuit driving. Very easy platform to tune and parts galore due to a great aftermarket.
It's a fairly fun car to drive!
The only drawback would be, since it's a 16 year old car, you're going to probably want to change out ALL the bushings or go for fully adjustable units.Apr 23, 2012

Gets going quick. Turbo spools up fast and adds that quick power really fast. great for drifting. stops fairly quickly as well. With the walboro fuel pump, gas is dependant on how you drive it. if you drive easy, gas saver. if you like to play a lot, gas guzzler. has to have premium 91 octane or better. This car is amazingly fun to drive. If you like breaking the rear tires loose, this car is for you.Nov 18, 2011

Enough grunt, but the N/A just doesn't compare to the TT model, still a fantastic
car and very fun to drive. Handles very well, better than the 2+2 version of the

Performance - The KA is reliable, but lacks power compared to the Silvia (Japan) or 200sx (Europe). Braking is good. Handling is good. Drifting is the car main staple though.
Build Quality - Exhaust heat shields always break and make awful noises. If a motor swap is your thing, redo the power wire for the fuel pump and upgrade to a Walboro 255.
Appearance - Interior is nice and the seats are amazing. I am not a fan of the Zenki headlights but that is not something to dwell on. S14 is all around stylish.
Cost - Mileage is good, around 22-27 mpg. Maintenance is the usual. Price is anywhere from $1500 - $4000 for a Zenki 240sx.
Fun Factor - Too much fun to play with to list it all.Sep 22, 2010

The car has amazing acceleration, hugs the corners as if it were on rails,
brakes quick, and really catches the eye! They're inexpensive to buy and
will drive forever if properly maintained, however for upgrades they

great car little underpowerd in higher RPM but thats is what a turbo is for. love the low end torque make a very easy car to drive in canyons and corners. tight steering and perfect for drifiting or if you like me perfect for sprint and all out racing. horrible at drag racing but thats not what the car was built forAug 30, 2010

PERFORMANCE-not too bad, still needs work
BUILD QUALITY-some cosmetic stuff
APPEARENCE-pretty good, paint has faded and spoiler dented
COST OF OWNERSHIP-gets about 200km per tank of petrol, cost to run: roughly $10,000 a year (aud)

i built this car from the ground up. very reliable.....knock on wood! nissans run forever and the body and all the suspension is brand spankin new. drifting is easy and almost too tempeting to do on a regular basis. LOVE this car!!!!!Apr 04, 2010

Most mods. whole engine internal, rings, turbo kits, piston, fuel inject, intake, exhaust system, rims & tires, gears, suspension kits, bars....etc. I were thinking to use this for drifting...well, sold it before I did, I can smoke my 285 rear tires with 2nd gear xdddDec 30, 2009

good power/weight ratio. LSD for drifting. reasonably fast without any modification. good brakes. engine will run forever if taken care of. i have over 220k miles. good gas mileage. around 350 miles per tank. moon roof. good looks. nice interior. very unique car for this area.Jul 22, 2009

you get the best of both worlds, rear wheel drive and 4cyl, fun to drive and easy on gas, i will never go back to fwd. it corners amasingly, it has alot of body roll but it still holds its line and i dont have to worry about the rear end sliding out on meJun 26, 2009

This car handles better than some Ferarries (measured in skidpad Gs). Unfortunatly it's plastic trim falls apart easily and it has a tiny trunk. It has that classy japanese look. If you work on it yourself it's a great deal. this is A drivers car.Jun 24, 2009

I love the quick acceleration...the TAKATA harnesses that hold you in your seat... the overall handling of the car... the curves and low profile of the body... and definitely the durability when you're drifting through the turn. All I need now is a turbo and an LSD!Dec 16, 2008

What a super nice car. the last of the sport compact car that is rear wheel drive. although the engine is a little weak , little modifications , like the japanese engine sway is the easy way to go for a good boost in power. it handles good, brakes ok and looks like no other. gotta love it!!!Dec 12, 2008

You have to have a taste for older Japanese cars like I do to appreciate its looks but even today its better looking than most new cars. Mine almost has 156K miles and it still runs like it was new and is still able to keep up with most newer cars. The performance is all about its handling which I feel is also better than new cars, however don't expect to win every drag race with other rear wheel drive cars. The build quality is excellent even though its all soft plastics and some hard, nothing in mine is cracked or broken. If anyone tells you that a 240sx is a bad car and there are better for the money, they are on crack. Good luck finding one though if you live up north because it seems like few S14s made it up here and 90% of 240sx's up here are rotted.Aug 23, 2008

its a great rear wheel drive car thats fast, and can handle great. only major problem is rust, and its age. both can be prevented just by basic car care. it take getting used to cause you have to counter steer, but thats the best part of the car, drifting. i love the look, and looks and handles better if lowered. inside is basic with no cupholders which makes shifting more fun. its just a great car, built for drag or drift you'll love driving it.Aug 18, 2008

Great Handling, superb engine, really low maintenance but the craftsmanship of the car leaves much to wish for.
really nice and low nice to fix up and tune, great mods for the car and really great to drift, my dream car.
Fsat, light, great maneuverability. a dream.

Best drift car out there, look no further if you already own one. Has great balance and response. Lots of options to chose for a motor swap. from SR's to RB's and even chevy small blocks! If any one was interested or thought about buying one I would strongly encourage them to buy it!Aug 01, 2008

The 240sx 50/50 weight distribution, great handling and looks sexy if you have a clean one or a kouki model. =D
the car is a great car for it's price. back in its day one of the top class in handling. now days people are into this car for the drift craze...but either way this is a nice car. it's almost 14 years old and doesn't give me any problems except the usually maintenance. the car is great for a first car to start track racing in and a good car to drift.

My work in progress also known as the '95 procrastination. This car was fun to drive, responsive and sporty. I didn't do much work to the engine, as I had dreamed a LS1 swap. I did have a custom exhaust attached to a OBEX Header, and CAI. Although, minor mods, it really woke up the KA24DE.Feb 19, 2008
