This car is an absolute blast to own and drive.
Cheaper than most to repair, and parts and panels are plentiful in the aftermarket.
This is GM's only locally produced car, with the nameplate starting here in 1979. GM's cars are much better when they can focus their efforts on one product instead of trying to please so many different markets...
Being an almost 20 year-old car, i'd be surprised if it didnt squeak and rattle, but compared to the american equivalent used car of that era, my money's on the Commodore.
Buick 3.8L V6, Turbo Hydramatic 700 (TH700) Trans, 3.08 LSD Differential, 205/65R15's more than sufficient.. Although, as any commodore owner would tell you, Keep some spare tyres handy as these cars will destroy a pair in absolutely no time at all..
As far as performance goes... do the math.
3.8L Buick + TH700 + LSD = That's a long line of cars we're coming up to, wasn't it?Mar 22, 2010

Performance - capa charged v6 @ 10psi, you be the judge
Build Quality - needs a few refinements
Appearance - speaks for itself doesn't it?
Cost of Ownership - if you have the horses, you have to feed them.
Fun Factor - what a question,c'mon.Aug 20, 2009

This was the very first car I bought all by myself. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. I was gorgeous. The price on it was $23,990 but I wanted it. It was several years old and I was determined to get the car of my dreams. I haggled with the salesman for three days until he finally gave in. I bought the car for $10,000. Then convinced him to put in a new windscreen, 5 new tyres, a full detail and a new arial. It was just beautiful.Dec 26, 2007
