Its rooted, I ran into too many give way signs.. actually, just the one. Exhaust is going, so it sounds like crap, some clown ran into the front of it and wrote it off. The some a$$ broke into it and flogged all my stereo. Paints flaking, all in all she's in pretty bad nick these days, but it was my first car and I dont think i can get rid of it.Sep 15, 2009

the performance.... it was gutless on both petrol and on gas. it had about 15 different things go wrong mechanically when i had it. as far as vn's go. it didnt look too bad. it was cheap to run as it was on gas and i found it fun to drive, thats mainly because it was my first car and everything was fun to drive Aug 08, 2009

Was my first car, its a VN so not much quality there :P, I put a sports exhaust and extractors and cold air intake on it but it needed a V8 put into it :D I did have a fair bit of fun driving it though :DJul 25, 2009

I owned 2 of these, a 1990 VN Executive and a 1994 version of the same car. Both have about the same qualities, so I'll treat them as 1.
It's a Holden, in Australia, it has a huge following. Its a solid car, V6 engine, the only thing I regret was buying the Automatic version, still, they were the first 2 cars I owned...
Great Acceleration, handles very well for its size and weight, Can be tricky in turns on a wet road as it doesnt take much to get this behemoth to drift, lots of power on the Rear axle.
The appearance is, well, old news, nothing compared to the newer versions, but, nothing too ugly either. NOthing to complain about regarding build quality, didnt have any major problems with the first, the second was a writeoff after another holden plowed into the passenger side. the sidebars are strong on this car. there was quite a bit of damage, but both myself and the girlfriend at the time escaped with naught more than a fright.
Would recommend it to others.Dec 05, 2008

5 Litres of Holdens own-built Cast-Iron Big Banger V8! It looked just like the 2nd Gen Opel Senator on which it was based, but under the bonnet was a large-for-the-time 25-bhp V8 engine that just LOVED to push you through the gears!
The quality of the car was typically Australian - a touch on the tacky side. However, for the same price of a Ford Escort in the UK, you could have a car that would destroy most things in its path.
It was huge too! Even though it was based on the Senator from Europe, it was up-sized. Even with the drivers seat fully back, a 6 feet 4 plus male could easily sit behind the driver!
What a car! And they just keep makin' em better!Aug 31, 2008

I had this car for around 3-4 years. Bought it for $2900 and sold it 4 years later for $1900. It was reliable and only let me down once when the computer died. For a six pack it went really well. I used love thrashing this thing. Mine must have been one of the few VN's that didn't leak oil as well.Dec 30, 2007
