The first car I have ever purchased, and to be my daily driver no less. This was the first generation to get the 6-spd. manual. Coupled with the LT1, its a blast to drive. As a friend once said, "Climbing in your car is like strapping into a cockpit!" Their are some gripes, like the poor location of the cupholder behind the shifter, the somewhat restricted visibility and the tight-fitting motor under the hood (see 4+ hr. tune-up). But, pound for pound and dollar for dollar, this is definitely one of the best muscle machines around.Jan 30, 2010

performance wise, the car is quick, but it isn't fast. Yet. It was built by the same people who designed the packaging for chewing tobacco. But i love the car. it really is great to drive. it doesn't cost near as much to run as expected, even though it gets about 10-14 mpg city. It redeems itself on the highway by getting around 25-30+ mpg. It has needed a few repairs such as my catalytic converter fell apart because the previous owner hardly drove it and that in turn broke my oil pressure sending unit. other than those malfunctions the car is pretty sturdy, it handles well for what it is, and if need be, it will get off it's ass and move.Oct 07, 2009

I Love My Camaro. Its the first car i ever bought. Drives awesome if everythings up to date like tires! Never had any major problems even though it has over 185k miles. i think its the toughest car compared to newer model cars because i had a dumb*** bump me in the back going about 40mph and nothing but a minor scratch on my bumper but the idiot's radiator started leaking!Jul 22, 2009

Performance wise for being a 16 year old car it can still hold it's own against most. No matter where you go it still turns heads. As Far as the fun factor goes if you let all 275 horses of the LT1 Run it is very easy to let the tires go up in smoke. Surprisingly this car can handle its own in the corners also. A few cons to it are unless you enjoy wrenching on the LT1 you can get very frustrated trying to access most engine parts, Spark plugs and the Opti Spark are a few to mention. May 29, 2009

Car has insane acceleration and top speed. Has over $5000 worth of modifications.. It'll put your ass back in the seat when you're already goin 70+... Acceleration..0-60 in under 5.. top speed over 150 mph speedo... It is a pig on gas and i have to put 93 in it. Of course i have a killer stereo system too...haha Loud... Red.. Fun old Camaro, it has been reliable up until last summer when it hit 178000 miles, then the ECU and a few cam sensors blew, and now 2 of the ignition coils have gone, but what can you expect for a 15 year old car with 186500 miles that is driven aggressively everyday? The clutch is really firm, which took a bit of getting used to, but the transmission has been pretty good, its fairly precise and the only issue I have had is that it is slightly difficult trying to shift into reverse, no real problems though. The engine has held up great to the constant abuse of almost everyday 100+ mph drives through the MT hills going to college and work. The oil filter is a bit of a pain to get at to change compared to my old e30 BMW, but that is to be expected too. The handling is pretty good, it hangs on really well to mountain roads at excessive speeds, but will shred tires quickly if you are not careful. My only real complaint is that the car tends to track the grooves on the road too much. The almost nonexistent trunk is only really useful for storing the t-tops and the back seats are small, have almost no padding and have no hand holds for the passengers, which has proven to be problem when taking corners at high speeds. After owning three of the 3rd Gen Z28's, I decided to try a 4th Gen. The car has 100,000+ miles on it, but it's still fast as Hell. What sold me on the car was the T56, six speed tranny. Combine the manual transmission and the LT1, and you have a Corvette in a Camaro body. The gas mileage isn't great, but I get about 15mpg, and always use Premium. The handling of the car is Incredible, it sticks to the road like glue. May 26, 2007
