It is was it is. It was a fun little car to own, it was reliable and cheap to run. I never had any complaints with this car but when the family started to grow so did my need for a bigger car. Thats the only reason why I got rid of it.Mar 23, 2013

very small and very quick ford. ive owned the 4cyl and the 6 cyl(which is this one) and the 6 cyl is a powerhouse. it handles turns really well and is a very fun little car to fool around in the snow.alot of little things go. but thankfully not many big problems occurr.parts are cheap to replace for this vehicle.th4 cyl get about 40 highway. and the 6 gets 24 highway. but the 6 cyl is more then worth it because of how quick this little thing isJul 26, 2010

Dislikes: 4 cylinder, ugly, and no power.
Likes: Gas Mileage, Tough as nails, and fun to drive. This was my first car, and to this day I miss the excellent gas mileage. Sure was fun to drive and love the new owner is having fun in it!Nov 24, 2009

Lets see what there is to say about my tempo... To start, the Transmission was screwed up, It was an automatic, but you had to put it into second gear, until it came out of first... then put it in drive. The rear passenger tire was nearly coming off, due to broken struts and the wheel well seperating from the body. The bumper was duct taped on, only one headlight, a hole about 16 inches in diameter was on the back passenger floorboard, you could see road. The shoulderstraps were broken on the seatbelts...
But best of all... 3 mechanics told me the car wouldn't last a month... a year and a half, and 16000+ miles, it finally died.Aug 02, 2009

This was my first car, but i beleive the worst car in the world, it was a tan/pink color and it was evil, everyone liked to slam into it, i had a different colored grill and bumper and a taped up tail light because of the accidents.Jul 21, 2009

this car overall is: slow unattractive and handles like a shopping cart. its 2.3L engine gives it little to no power and really isn't even that great on gas, sure it may be better than say a family sedan dut for a small car it is terrible! It is however pretty reliable--unless you plan on starting it in weather colder than -20--i have not had too many problems with it suprizingly even for the year! overall i would not reccomend this car to anyone unless you need a cheap car for the time being.Mar 29, 2009

My GLS tempo was equipped with a 3.0 V6 and 5 speed manual transmission, i paid $200 for the car and didn't expect much out of it.
I beat the hell out of it and it never complained once.

Car was extremely reliable, needed almost no repairs, repairs were cheap. Has weak alternator and rear suspension. Roomy-ish interior, plain but acceptable exterior styling. Performance is decent, but the 3 speed auto tranny is the weak link, it is harsh and revs at 2900 at 60mph. top speed 197kph on the 401/400 in T.O.....NOT RECCOMMENDED IN A TEMPOOct 25, 2008

Good car, got it from my grandparents two years ago. Doesn't look the greatest but does what it needs to and gets me to anywhere I need to go. Gas mileage is okay, I get around 400-450km before I need to find a gas station. Not to big of a car, which is good for parking. Overall: Good car.Sep 17, 2008

Pretty reliable little car. Bought it 5 years ago for like $600 and it still runs great. Good on gas. Haven't has a breakdown yet. Parts are cheap. No power at all though, but I've gotten it up to about 85+ on the highway... not bad for a straight 4 cylinder.Aug 16, 2008

Performance was very good:acceleration was very very good,braking was good and handling was very good. Build quality was good. Appearance was very good for the interior and good for the exterior. Tempo 4 dr GLS needs lot of gas `cause it is a performance car and it`s a 4 dr that means more weight(than 2 dr). I never had any major engine/transmission problems. Ugly freaking 4-door sedan, and the ATX died a week after I bought it -- but, then, it was a $200 car, so it's not really that unexpected. The V6 is okay, but with a proper rebuild it could be actually FAST. Maybe. With a little luck the car will end up in 24 Hours of Lemons and the GRM $2009 or '10 challenge.Aug 11, 2008
