This truck was awesome. It had the 454 CID V8, so power was never an issue, and was equipped with a class IV receiver hitch and trailer braking controller, so it could tow just about anything.It was equipped with 1 ton suspension, and rode like a real truck. The 4x4 worked great, and was controlled with a mechanical linkage, rather that an electric switch, so it never had any problems. however, since the truck had a posi rear end, I rarely needed the 4x4. The truck had the silverado trim package, with all the bells and whistles, and seated 8. It had the burgundy interior, and was painted a fairly uncommon charcoal grey. Additionally, it had the rear barn doors instead of the liftgate. the truck was very reliable, it never had any major mechanical issues. when sold in 2005, it had 167,000 miles on it, with the original 4L80 transmission, the truck ran like new and shifted beautifully, and burned no oil.
April 10, 2008The basic go anywhere, do what you want, haul what ya need, vehicle... Getting about 17 to 19 miles to the gallon.. I love my trucks and I ain't complainin like the rest when I got to fill er up!!! HA!! Has 4 wheel drive and very little rust.. Just replaced the radiator because it had a leak after 195000 miles...
September 1, 2008suberbans are great for family transportation howerver they are very costly. Replacement of this vehicle is expensive too operate and keep up. with a family of large people over 6' smaller vehicles are obviously not feisable for us thank you

Build: Lots of plastic but it sure holds up well for almost being 20 years old Appearance: essentially a 1500 with full camper shell, so a little more appealing Cost: well in its day it was awesome but now, a constant pain in the butt. Fun: Seats are wonderful, sits high, roomy.
October 24, 2011i love it. its realiable and strong. i pulled a tractor out of a a ditch in the snow with this thing. it does not acc verry fast or go very fast but it will do the job. she is a buet.
