Great engine, loved that classic camaro styling. Fast down a straight way. V8 engine sound. However it... Slurped gas. Carburetor had issues starting when cold. Noise from exhaust caused neighbor to constantly egg car and put nails in its tires. Thanks officer! No trunk space. No traction at all in rain or snow. Police magnet. It was awesome the year it came out by 2001 it was a bit of a dinosaur. I recommend fuel injection over carb models and if you can get posi traction that will help. Oct 26, 2014

well i have an 350 inside of it but i want make it a street race car out of it performance is alright it does need a full tune -up tires are like slicks love the low level height of the car fronts seats need a little repair but the back is good even though gas mileage sucks but traveling wise its good on gas and its just really fun to drive around periodNov 23, 2011

-Performance- Fast acceleration, great braking, awesome handling. -Build- They hold up well as long as you take care of them. -Appearance- I love how they look. -Cost of Ownership- Not great gas mileage. Great handling. Acceration after 2nd gear is good. Common problems for me were the piston rings, clutch, and transmission. The transmissions on these cars were not for sport cars at all, but more for 4 cylinder sedans. So as you can see if you update the tranny and rear end, nothing could stop you from fully upgrading the engine after that. Gas mileage is terrible... 14-18 mpg, but fun to drive and easily spotted by cops.Sep 10, 2009

This car is very nice to look at. This is my dad's car collectible with little to no scratches or dings. Everything in the car is original. The engine is a 5.7 liter V8 fuel injected engine. The car is still brand new with about 4000 miles on it. My dad and I try to run the engine once every few months and pull it out of the garage to wash it too. I always like to rev up the engine when my dad and I wash it.Aug 08, 2009

performance. is there as soon as you hit the pedal. GOTTA B STANDARD. build quality all t-tops leak. get a coup of a convertable apperance. I LOVE it, could never make anything hotter. and i love the dash since its not like a cock pit. The performance is all around great, I had a set of 3.73 ring and pinion gears in it and it had very nice acceleration...little too twitchy, though...it would lite up the 10" wide tires at any speed. I put a set of 2.73 gears into it so I would get better mileage on the 40 mile (each way) drive to school. It doesn't accelerate as fast off the line, but once it gets up to about 25mph, it's smooth sailing. I know it will outrun the '08 Mercedes SLK. The handling is all around amazing: tight turning (especially for a 16' car), it hugs the road perfectly through any turn and at any speed. Overall the fast response turning, great speed, great acceleration, and fine-tuned 5-bolt suspension make this car as close to perfect as most people will ever be able to afford.Jun 11, 2009

Pretty much the bastard child of the second generation Camaros. Underpowered and poorly designed. The six cylinder base models were terrible. Too much weight and not enough engine/transmission lead to many of the two failing. The doors were always too heavy for the cheap hinges they sat on and, as a result, sagged terribly. If you know someone who slams car doors, they may have owned a third gen Camaro.Jul 31, 2008

love the car its power is awesome for a high output 305. its puttin out bout 300 horse and i haven't topped her out yep. I have had it over 140mph. Thing i dont like is that she has t-tops and they are hard to keep seals in but they dont leak water so thats good. Another cool thing is that she only has 48,000 miles on her and at bout 75mph i can average 28mpg so im pretty impressed.Jul 24, 2008

I have had the car since January of 1998. I have kept up on ALL of the maintanence. The cae had 10,100 miles on it when I bought it. The car now has 68,245 miles. The man that had the car before me traveled. He traded the IROC in on a Cadilac Avanti. The gas milage will fool you too. We took a trip from albany OR. to Reno NV. and back. Driving 75 to 90 steady both ways. Granted I had just had the car tuned up. The overall milage was29.6 MPG!! Pretty good I would say. How about you? She is very sharp with her louvered black swoops in the hood. The dark tinted "T' tops and a gentle spoiler built right into the trunk deck. When the "T" tops are offand the windows rolled down the baby exudes class!! As a matter of coarse I change out certain sencors such as the mass air flow sencor. this ensures proper performance at all times. You take care of one of these baby's and they will please you every time you step on the gas!! Have Fun May 05, 2007
