The car was very reliable for a 17-year old car, and actually not bad for any car. It had good appearance except for the usual rear rocker panel rust spots. The air conditioner had gone home, but what to expect. It handled very well - road holding was especially good. Performance was what to expect from an '80's small car - modest. Use the low gears uphill and merging on highways and you should be okay. If you get one in good condition for a low price (you don't see many now) it might be worth your while.Oct 30, 2012

i dont like how hard it is to find performance parts, im trying to rebuilt mine into a road king speed machine so this kind of sucks for me. other than that i really love this car . acceleration isnt bad unless you have alot of big people in the car. its a cozy little car, doesnt have blind spots( which is one of the main reasons that i like square bodied cars like this, it stays out of the shop it hasnt caused me any trouble, if you want fuel efficient and dont want a hybrid or electric car then buy a civic, they have always been good on fuel! if you are a good driver this car is pretty safe. i wouldt recommend for people who just cant drive, it has no power steering no abs breaks and no traction controlls like newer cars so if you lose traction on wet or icey roads you better know what you are doing lol. i hydroplane on wet/icey roads all the time but my passengers never notice because, 1 im a pretty good driver and 2, the car handles really really good!Oct 20, 2012

Braking is oosam, acceleration is not much admirable. Car is very durable, but the problem which occurs often is in steering and leakage of engine oil from oil chamber. Well, the car from exterior looks like a hot 30 year lady , very eye catching. Interior is also quite innovative. Gives mileage in a liter of around 10 kms, its just a 1200 cc engine, but the mileage it gives is not fair due 2 its carburator engine. The car have a very good handling, its a front wheel drive engine but you can drift this car better than many rear wheel drive engines.Nov 03, 2009

My first car-an 87 Civic Real Time 4wd. I learned to drive on this car when i was 13. you could make a bed from the dash to the trunk-slept in it a few times when it was too cold to camp, and actually beat Jon Petley in his 86 Camaro RS with a 305 from our townhouse in Lee Hall to his house in Denbigh in highschool with 4 fewer cylinders-(we had to drive around for 10 minutes before actually parking and going in as he peeled out a block from his house and the rents were out in the back yard). a bunch of us went to busch gardens (where a bunch of us worked) one day, and all 12 of us climbed into my Civic. we met Kim up there and stole a cone on the way back. 13 kids and a cone in a civic wagon. as if the acceleration didn't suck to begin with-carbed engine-put 13 high school seniors in it and see how long it takes to get to 60mph. oh, and keep in mind-your exhaust pipe will scratch the ground every time you enter a parking lot. i loved this car, but she was parked with 193k when i got my grandmother's 87 Subaru GL hatchback with 57k. I didn't realize the nature of mechanical forces and killed the Sub shortly after. both cars were traded in for my silver '91 corolla le with a 4afe engine. i still take note if i see a Civic wagon-wondering what would happen if i noticed FOR SALE signs in the window...Nov 28, 2008

I didn't have this car long because it was crashed, but while I had it, it was pretty good to me.. I drove it from Washington State to Idaho without any problems whatsoever.. It looked like the stock photo that I have, it didn't have a passenger side mirror, it was a stick shift, white in color with maroon interior.. The sunroof didn't work nor did the horn.. It ended up going out.. It wasn't the prettiest, but it sure was a good running car! I cleaned and washed it religiously so the interior was really nice.. It was my first stick shift so having those first stick shift moments was quite funny.. It kept dying on me because I couldn't drive it.. Ahhh, well, I do miss it and I still have it in Washington and just may use it for parts for my Accord.. It was my first car.. May 23, 2008
