Drives like a boat on and off road. never got stuck. I LOVE driving my truck. I would love to keep exploring the state of NJ with her but she sucks gas so much, it sucks. so that's why I bought a Prelude....Aug 15, 2010

I love my truck it is fun to drive and being an ex military truck is very tough. It has a tbi 350 and an 4 speed auto in it. Right now it has 31 inch tires on it but im hopeing to have 33's and a soft top on it soon. The only bad thing is the fuel milage that is about 10 miles to the gallon but i will suffer the gas milage for the fun this truck has to offer.Jun 01, 2010

It is an easy to repair vicial when the US government isn't being evil and stoping the ability for me to by my parts or get my hands on it. The engine has over quarter of a million miles on it and it is still pluging away. The interior is still in amazing shape though the dash board top is getting a little dried and cracked.
It asselerates amazingly expecially up hills, little cold to start but once you get it out of first gear there is no stoping it. Breaking is a little slow but to be expected with larger cars. Handles as good as any blazer and amazing in the snow and rain.
Only gets 15 miles to the gallon on a good day now compared to the 22 it used to get in it's hayday.
Back window still works!
Tons of fun to drive, expecially in the back woods!Oct 04, 2009

Solid SUV for everything in its time. A lot of fun when you take the top off. A very capable off-roader, If you don't mind the MPG. It was built strong and almost nothing could hurt it, except the rock that I collided with. Living in a warmer climate the fun factor is high. Mine was carburated, I would highly suggest a fuel injected engine. There is loads of aftermarket support if you want to lift it or resore them.Jun 24, 2009

This truck was in really bad condition when I bought it. The
frame was twisted, it had over 200k miles, 3 of the brakes
didn't work, and only 2 cylinders were firing. I got the
engine fixed, and the truck served me well.... until the
brakes started on fire. VERY expensive to repair, so I
ended up trashing it.May 15, 2009

it was a chevy so i loved it. the only problems i had in the 14 months that i owned it was replaceing the water pump and it had wiring problems with the brake/tail lights. and bad gas mileage because of the 350 ci. the truck had well over 200,000 miles so over all it was a great buy.Jul 24, 2008

Started out as the family vacation vehicle. I inherited it after replacing a blown engine in high school. Can't do anything too crazy with it, but a good base for a later buildup into a capable hunting/trail rig.Jun 05, 2008

We have had this truck since it rolled off the showroom floor and it has been used everyday of its 21 year life! And it looks almost brand new too!! The one bad thing though is that I just reciently blew the engine and we put a new one in, but it's still a 350. The truck is completly stock also!Jun 02, 2008

I needed a truck but had a very tiny budget. I love the old blazers and
broncos with removable tops - I knew exactly where to put my small
amount of money towards something that would go to the dump (for the
bathroom remodel) and make me proud: a 1987 Silverado Chevrolet
Blazer. Need I say more?May 03, 2008

My 87 blazer has a good bit of rust, infact half the floor board and the rear body mounts are rusted all the way through. Still bone stock but when the pedal hits the floor the motor is screamin. i have run this truck through mud holes right behind jacked up trucks with 44's and lockers and all that after market stuff and didnt miss a stroke. The only problem i have had is the spider gears in the rear broke apart when i was power breaking it one night. Still does alot beter than most of those stock fordsSep 17, 2007
