It is a fun car to drive year round. It was fun to restore. T-top is a blast in the summer and nice to look out in the winter. It has a nice muscle car look, feel, and sound. The interior is restored to like new too. The 6 speed transmission gets me 27 mpg on the highway.Feb 04, 2015

i enjoy the amount of power this car has this car is like a dream car for me the part i dislike its the back seats you cant really fit more than 3 people but otherwise the car is great the handling is best at fast speedsMar 02, 2013

This was an LX but with the 5.0 package with T-tops. The faster I drove this car the quieter it got. At 55 to 60 mph it was kinda noisy. The car itself handled great! I could turn on a dime and it held long turns without throwing you our the window. The biggest problem with the car was the carborator. It was a Holly four barrell that mechanics tended to lean out too much saying crap like, "Its to specs" and would not change it. So I had to adjust it myself. Ultimatly it led to the cars demise as too much gasoline got on the engine and ignited. It was totaled in 15 minutesAug 18, 2010

Its gotta stock ford small block 302 v8 5 liter under the hood its also a rarer type of the foxbody mustang cuz its a notchback lx. Its such a light car with so much power and torque itll take u from point A to point B b4 u can say DAMN!!Aug 05, 2010

well this is my mustang lx convertible that i am rebuilding with my dad.
it ran well with 2 blown headgaskets so hopefully it will run REALLY good when the car is running right after the rebuild and its a classicJun 01, 2010

Its a pretty good ride all in all. Rides smooth, handles turns well. There is a tad bit of noise coming from the rear, but nothing serious..yet....
But performance-wise, its not too bad, great take off, but tends to bog sometimes, with or without clutch. Sometimes it takes it a bit to respond to the pedal.
It gets decent gas mileage for a V8. Little under 15, I've been told with some more tuning and easier driving I can even reach 17 maybe even 18. This is Atlanta's Suburban city driving. Haven't driven in the highway much, so I don't know the mileage there.
I personally believe there's nothing meaner looking than a Foxy of the Ford line, albeit it has to be modified exterior a bit.Apr 06, 2010

Overall, I absolutely love my car! I bought it when I was 16 and I'm 25 now. I've put about 11,000 dollars into it so far. It has a 306 with an Edelbrock 600 carburetor, Headers, Msd distributor, Mallory coil, Electronic Spark Discharge Box with Rev Limiter, 355 rear-end gears, Super Duty T-5 transmission, Dual core high flow radiator, BBK X-pipe exhaust, 4 point seat belt harness's. Etc. I'm still doing a lot to it but, it is worth every penny and my love! Nov 24, 2009

Neck snapping torque (it's a 351w, not a 302), still gets 20+ mpg on the highway, and 16 in town. I like that it's not nearly as common as the 87-93 Aero nose Mustangs, and the interior has more character in my opinion, flat dash, halo headrests, red piping on the upholstery. Love it.Oct 06, 2009

This is the best 9/10 completed car you could ever buy. The potential for upgrades is limitless. Even in stock form this car has good braking, acceleration and handling. They all could be improved but still good for the year. This car is a blast in the right hands(mine). Sep 02, 2009

The fox body Mustangs are probably the least
attractive body styles, but the early to mid
80's Mustangs were better looking with the
quad headlights. The later models with the
flush headlights might have been sleeker, but
the didn't look as good.
This was a great straight line car. The stock
302 was easy to upgrade and bullet proof. The
manual transmission was great,with short
throws and a crisp throw.
Where this car failed, was handling! It didn't! If
you know how to drive, you could power drift
the car through corners, but otherwise traction

I love the sound of a 4 barrel Carb open up at like 3500rpm. Its got lots of torque so driving anywhere is fun. Unfortunatly the shocks are really stiff but it takes corners crazy fast.American Muscle all the way.Jul 06, 2009

I Bought the baby for $100.00 and it has been a great car. well worth every penny and a whole lot more. I have changed the suspension out to the GT Goodies and Am Building a 5.0 H.O. with the 5 Speed and 3.73 Limited slip rear end. It should be an even funner car to drive. I am not to disappointed with the 4 banger in it I just want more. Cornering and handling is great. Reliability for a car of this age has also been very good. When I purchased it there were some repairs needed. No big deal but the person I purchased it from did not fix the radiator fan when it went out and he wound up blowing a head gasket. This was Very inexpensive to fix. Around $100.00 DIY. Dec 01, 2006

i own 1 of the 3 gray 1985.5 ford mustang GT. most say that the first year of fuel injection was in the 1986 models, but it wasn't, the first year of fuel injection was in late 1985 with the throttle body fuel injection. making this 1 of the rarest mustangs ever made. today there is only 1 other gray 1985.5 ford mustang GT driving around because the other out of the 3 is already wrecked.Oct 30, 2006
