Once again, another awesome ride. Got a good deal on it, swapped the crappy 305 out for a better built 350. Has decent power, wish i had more... interior is like brand new. Very clean, could use a paint job.Apr 19, 2012

They don't make cars like this anymore. It's actually steel. Rides like a Cadillac. Looks better than anything curvy or egg-shaped, or hybrid. Cheap to fix, easy to work on, great car for a beginner restorer, or a seasoned race car driver. Not for sale, sorry. ;)Apr 15, 2012

Car is a great car decent power and pretty rlighiable. only had one problem with it so far. but slowly finding other things that need to get fix due to previous owner's cutomization. this car is a nice cruiser. however highway driving it seems to need another gear runs about 3000 rpm at 65.Dec 14, 2011

Runs and drives great, the 305 can stay until I'm ready ($$$) for an LSx swap. The body is in great shape, and I got it for a hell of a price, and even drove it home. You cant beat that for a project. A few minor things and this can be a DD.Jan 16, 2010

the tranny had bad slippage and the brakes were iffy. really loose steering but the body was in great shape. the 4.3 liter engine used oil... a lot of oil and gas milage wasnt the best. it is a car to drive on a slow sunday cruise Jan 07, 2010

I love this car more than anything in the world. Performance,
build, appearance, cost and fun factor are all amazing with
this car. I would never buy a different car except for a new
monte carlo. I love driving it.Nov 10, 2009

I love this car. I have owned it since 1993. It has a built 4.3 liter v6 that puts out about 300 hp. The trans is a beefed-up 700r4. It has a Detroit Truetrac differential with 3.73 gears. It is alot of fun, and it sounds like a built v8 when it is running. The cam is the largest grind that Comp Cams offers for the 4.3, and it has a great lope at idle. I wouldn't trade this car for the world.
Future plans include headers, suspension improvements and a fresh paint job. Jan 31, 2009

The V6 was not good enough but the 305 bolted right to the power glide that made this car fun to driveApr 03, 2008

My brother an I got our hands on an 85 SS with a 350,bored 20over, rv cam, stage 1 shift kit all ballanced and blueprinted like a dream come true. The entire car has had the most extensive overhaul I've ever seen with my own eyes. The only thing left to do to this big boys toy is the interior unless.... we decide to bolt on 4or5 hundred more horse for the strip. She handles better than any thing I've ever driven and has out done a 1978 aniversary ed. vette, without smokin the rubber from the rims. Talk about beauty.
By the way, It has a purplish marroon color with just the rite pearl.Nov 19, 2006
