I like the price,but hat the fact the previous owner put the tranny in the shop and left it there.also those fog lights and the way it's got bolts or something I canfigure out on the roof then there's the windshield leaks.and 1more thing the bed liner 've got to take it out to check for rust,bed installation done wrongJan 09, 2013

the five liter motor makes great power the way it is it handles well for a truck so far the cost to maintane has been low a few odds and ends but not bad for a 27 year old truckJul 23, 2012

I like how the truck drives, handles, performs, and sounds. Very quick acceleration, quick braking power. Truck just needs more gas mileage and some good paint. Great daily driver, fun to drive and always get complements and a few questions.May 27, 2012

i really like the straight 6 motor its got alot of power and acceleration it sounds really good with a glasspack. it will pull anything u hook it up too i would recommend this truck to anyone. ford the bestSep 12, 2011

its an 85 ford f150. 300inline 6 with 4 on the floor. its reliable thats all i can say its a ford built tough enough said. it dont dig holes in the mud but it plows threw it. yay fordApr 03, 2011

Great old low mileage (73000) work truck. The frailest part is the early FI. I only drive it about 7000/yr. AT A/C. Will drive it a lot of years yet. Suspension, brakes, shocks and steering has been freshened - drives real good for its vintage. Pulls car trailer easiley.Jan 19, 2011

I love this truck. It runs really good. The one thing that I loved the most about it was that it is loud. It makes people look twice at it....It would make a good truck for someone that did not have kids or for someone that wanted to haul stuff.Jan 05, 2011

It has 10" lift, 1 ton axles, 3/15 gears, 38" tires, 15" rims. This thing has
14" of travel on the front axle. It is a beast, it will not get stuck. it has
plenty of power, but since the rear end has the gears it does not have a

1985 Ford F150 with a 302 under the hood. It's a 70's block apparently with a EFI system from the 90's on top. I paid $500 for it. Basically has all new tires around it until I get done burning them off to put my 31's on. It moves out pretty decent, stops better than the last one but it's an automatic and I get so bored driving it sometimes. It needs to be placed back in time and I gotta get rid of the spark knock in it before it gets beefed up at all.Oct 25, 2010

I bought my 85' f-150 xl for $200 for my
first car, apparently it had been in a
flood so it was as rusty as anything ive
ever seen. about 15 hrs of work and $300
into the truck and it was on the road. i
figured id get a couple thousand miles on
the truck before it bit it, but 30,000
miles later and approximately 200k on it
it still runs like a champ, starts better
than my 2002 cavalier and offroads better
than our 2002 chevy 1500. And in my
opinion the truck looks better than the
new f-150s... the thing is tough and even
with its legs blown off keeps on getting
you where you need to go. it has quite a
bit of body roll but what truck doesnt?
accelerates about as fast as the 2002
silverado and the chevy has a bigger
engine and is 17 years newer. brakes work
great but are a pain because they are all
drums (no abs obviously). this thing is
built like a rock , after i origionally
got it on the road i havent had to
replace one thing, which for a truck with
this many miles is crazy. overall this is
an awesome truck and i fell in love with

This truck runs like a champ. The frame of the truck is great but the body could use some work, which will happen in the future. Door pins need replaced, needs new mounts for the motor and transmission, a new brake booster and/or master cylinder is also in need of replacement. The truck has a custom spraypaint paint job done by me in my driveway and the interior is in pretty good shape for being 25 years old. It's a blast to drive. It isn't very fast, has decent gas mileage but sucky brakes for now. The truck is amazing and I will never get rid of it unless it gets totaled. For being 2 wheel drive, I haven't been stuck yet. It even has the stock tires but it will have 31" tires soon.Jul 16, 2010

First off, it isn't a F-150, it is an E-150. They didn't have the choice of a 1985 E-150. It has a 351w in it. I think it has a slight oversize cam in it and a 650 Holley carb. It makes a great workhorse but it loves the gas. I don't like it as much as a Chevy or GMC van and it doesn't have any cupholders in it but it'll get the job done.Jun 23, 2010

well i needed a vechical and picked this one up for $300. so i really cant grip to much bout the price. it sat for a few years before i got it and all i have to put in it was a battery and a fuel filter. and of course a radio and speakers to replace the factory turn knob and single dash speaker. Good on gas and plently of torque for off-roading. Good lookin truck and its cheap to fix( if you do it yourself). All the mechanical parts of the truck will last longer than your own life, and you can take it pretty much anywhere.Feb 24, 2010

This was my first car. It was a stripped and very basic model.
The 5.0l was very weak this year as it was the first to have
the Bosh derived fuel injection. I only managed 9 mpg
combined. The transmission gave out, but it was my fault.

AWESOM TRUCK!! The performace is great, because it has the 5.0 from a mustang. The build quality is typical 80s: cloth seats and bits of faux wood EVERYWHERE. The appearance is boxy, yet rugged. I tis very fun. I love it!Jan 07, 2010

Overall it is a great truck. Used to have a
problem with the fuel injection till i put
a chip to regulate the amount of fuel it
draws. The truck is as strong as an ox. I

Runs great, has an inline 6. pulls whatever i put it up to. i'm 16, great first truck:) paid 600 and put 2 grand into it. I'm thinking about putting a 460 in it so it sounds a lot more powerful. i love this truck though. definately worth what i paid.Dec 14, 2009

The truck I own is not original. It has an offenhauser intake, Holley 4 barrell carberatour and a Dynomax Super Turbo muffle, Cragar SS Rims, Euro Style Tail Lights. I love driving this truck because it is rare that you see a truck like mine.Dec 05, 2009

its built tough could have used better springs in the front mine saged really bad but i fixed that with a 6 inch pro comp lift and 38 inch grounghawgs this is a very fun truck i havent gotten stuck yetNov 25, 2009

power to spare, stup pulling touque (literaly) easy to work on 350000 miles on it and it runs like a top, Nothing on it breaks down and it gets about 30 MPG you can spin the tires in fourth gear (its only a four speed)Aug 05, 2009

Bought this truck used, from the guy I was working for at the time. This was one of the first hydraulic flatbed car carriers in this size. People didn't know what the heck it was, now they're common. I drove it up to a Ferrarri dealership in Greenwich CT, and told them I could deliver their cars anywhere in the US. They had been shipping them in box trucks, pushing them up ramps. Getting the car into the new owner's driveway had always been a real issue. With this truck, I had the car up on bed in 5 minutes and back on the ground in less. They were amazed and kept me busy until the competition showed up. I also didn't like working that hard, so bye bye to the truck.Mar 06, 2009

i love my 85 ford pick up. i am 18 and its my first vehicle and i couldnt have asked for a better one. my dad bought it from his dealership for 800 and put about 3 grand into it. (including magna flow and bigger tires)so the truck runs great and hasnt left me stranded yet. but it is only a 2wd which, where i live isnt very popular. i cant take it wheeling with my buddies but its still a keeper. i have a 85 ford f150 with the explorer package and a inline 6 with 140 hp and 265 lb. torque (stranded) and its 4 speed with granny gear, i have towed many vehicles and i am always going tho the mud, this is a great truck, just bad on gas i get about 10 mpg and its kinda sluggish, but a good overall truck, and it is deff, fun to drive, i have 33's on it right now, and it sits high without a lift kitDec 05, 2008

I bought the truck cheap. And overall it hasn't been bad. However it seems to have a problem with overheating and cutting out. I was not really made aware of this when I bought it. I have tried to fix it but have been unsuccessful. I have more than got my use of it though. I let my father use it as a farm truck. Feb 04, 2008

I have been looking at this truck parked on a corner lot for two years now. My boss told me who owned it and I made the guy an offer of 7 hun and he turned it down... he sold it to me for three hun... weird huh??
