The El Camino is ideal for one with a certain appreciation of certain aspects of life. This particular 1981 entails a 4bbl 350ci long headers dual exhaust dual tips each side. It is nice to throw or tie/strap down anything reasonable in the coated bed .. and I believe this vehicle should have no problem towing more than twice it's weight . It commands and receives much respect and appreciation from most anyone on the road, as it is in good hands.Mar 05, 2014

too heavy and wishing it was faster off the line because the 350 is just inadequate to motivate this big heavy beast down the road. It is one of the most stylish cars I have ever owned. Looking for more classic muscle but it will do for now.Jan 31, 2010

Its a Chevy thus a piece of JUNK this is why I swap the 305 in
it for a ford 302 HO out of a stang. The bed is very useful for
it being built on a station wagon platform. Nov 26, 2009

it needs a locker rear end and a v8. but air shocks are a very good thing to have. and the doors are very very big like the size of a mini cooper. need to make a roll cage. 400 small block will work nicely. Aug 10, 2009

The cruiser, for haulin parts or just flat out haulin. It's 50% Country, 50% Rock and Roll, 100% cool. The car is amazing, good performance, lots of cargo space behind the seat, a six and a half foot bed, easy to work on, you can go classic or modern with it. Its got a bench seat for dates, I like the simple styling, everybody makes fun of the pee yellow color, I kind of like that. Seats 3 but you can fit a bunch of people in the back, so who cares? It has a 350 out of a 1978 chevy pickup and a rebuilt TH400. Edelbrock carb and intake, dome top pistons. Its got dents and stuff from off-roading, but they just add character, right? Love it, pretty enough to look good at the Saturday night cruise, but ugly enough to beat on a little. MPG? Not how i drive it. Fun car though (more to life than gas mileage).Jan 30, 2009

I like it a lot, it's the greatest car you could ever own. It's versatile and powerful. Unfortunately it's out of order at the moment, but I'm hoping to put some serious work into this winter, I'm working more to get some money to do stuff with it. Look for it in the summer of '09!Nov 19, 2008
