We are working on an 85 El Camino Conquista right now. Our problem is the carb. It’s a Quadrajet RA-E4ME. We rebuilt the carb three times, Bought two rebuilt carbs, and still can’t get it to run well. We live in CA and the 85 has a ton of smog devices and hoses. It is impossible to get the engine bay looking neat and organized. We love the styling though.Mar 10, 2024

The cars a classic, if you ask me that says enough in itself. The car is missing some minor things and is gonna need some replacement parts but over all I’m really happy I bought this car. I paid $7,800 for it but If it had all its bells and whistles I would have paid up to $15,000 for it. Jan 30, 2021

The performance of the Elcamino is ok. Its a little slow off the start with its 2.93 rear gears and 3 speed automatic Turbo 300 transmission, but it will hit 50 in 1st around 90 in 2nd and I have no Idea where 3rd gear goes. It also gets around 19 mpg.Jan 29, 2010

i love this car! im rebuilding and dropping in a 454 Chevy big block into it. it needed repairs since it was built in 1985 just rust repair tho. its black on black im still doing a little work in the interior. runs great the only bad thing is that it just eats gas but what do u expect, it a muscle. this car is great to drive get lots of looks in it since its not a common muscle car. amazing car. never given any problems would recommend it to anyone looking for a good reliable car. fun to drive, good looking, catches alot of attention going down the road. not a flashy new car but its a chevy and its the only way to go. this thing requires too many words and i dont know what to write....Aug 09, 2008

Love my car. Always been a fan of GMC products. El Camino does not disappoint. V-8 is strong, ride is smooth. Perfect car to take on a road trip. The El Camino is a classic in Style, nevermind Ford's wish it was a camino. Always get offers from people wanting to purchase. Will own this car till one of us meets our end!Aug 06, 2008
