I like how much power the engine has. Will pull anything. Mine has the 300 inline 6 engine, 4 speed manual and it is 4X4. My brother has a 79 2 wheel drive with a 302 in it. I the straight six pulls a lot better, but the 302 works better for racing/funing around.
Hate how much rust all order fords have. Almost all the older ford have the bed rusted out. I finaly found a bed that does not have any rust, but one of the tailgate post is bent =P
Performance - Good. Has lots of power, and stops well. Like the trailer brakes. Hnadles better on and off road then any other truck I have ever drove.
Build Quality - Rusty. Good solid truck, but the bed is rusted out. Still has the floor bourds though.
Appearance - I like the shape of the truck, but the stock wheels suck. I have 6.5" off set whites spokes on mine 9But I painted the rims chrome). The stock size tires are also way to small considering how high the truck is off of the ground.
Cost Of ownership - Gas milage is ok. When I first got it it was a PITB, but I got most of the bad parts replaced, and it works good now.
Fun Facter - Great fun truck. Lots of fun to drive on and off road.Nov 07, 2010

My dad bought this particular truck new in 1980 for around $12,000. Stayed in the family ever since. It's a lot of fun to drive on and off road, servicing it isn't difficult. The only gripes I have are that the transmission doesn't really seem up to the task, and the fuel mileage was terrible, despite the dual fuel tanks.Jul 03, 2008

I love this truck, does a wicked burn out even with the 302, the new engine will complete the performance lack and the build quality lack, been broke down a couple times with the current engine. will fix that soon I hope. Jan 14, 2008
