The Volkswagen Beetle went downhill from 1972. By 1973, smog control had already started to choke the H4 engine to death and by 1975, VW had introduced fuel injection, which was a disaster. The 1972 Beetle is the best. The old style Volkswagen had become too expensive to make. The Karmann Ghia died in 1974. The bug lasted a few years longer due to modular body construction, but VW was cutting costs everywhere.Oct 02, 2023

Planning to go and see this car in person. Ive owned the same vehicle before and if you do Volkswagens you know what to expect. This one seems to have been taken care of and maintained. This time around and buying the car for my nieces daughter shes surprisingly likes older Volkswagens.Sep 22, 2021

Original 1982 Mexico Beetle. Bought in 2007 and still in restoration. 1.2l - 34 hp for the greatest acceleration you can imagine. Hope I can finish it in summer 2011. Just have to fix the underground and the brakes. Than he can be brought to the painter. Feb 12, 2011

El vehiculo solo tiene cuatro marchas y da para cinco, es un desperdicio, curva muy bien, ya que la mayor parte del peso se encuentra atras y debido a que es de traccion trasera permite salir de curvas acelerando sin mayor anclaje de las ruedas delanteras...Aug 25, 2009

Recuerdo q una vez subía al refugio del Cotopaxi en mi Pichirilo blanco y en la última cuesta antes de llegar al área de parqueo le rebasé a un Land Rover y por más que aceleró no pudo hacer nada el conductor de ese 4x4. Todos se quedaron locos. Ese día mi carro se ganó además de mi cariño, mi respeto... jeje! Q será de mi Vocho!Jul 30, 2009

A very reliable car. Easy when it comes to maintenance, does
not cost a lot of money. Good gas mileage. Always fun to
drive standard in a third world country, it's like playing a video

Best car ever ! Doesn't matter that it's not drivable right now. It still makes me smile ;] You don't get a lot of performance, but you get a lot of power to yourself, because it's never boring and you never know what's going to happen when driving he (not it !).
VW Beetle doesn't need a lot of mechanical skills to fix it, it doesn't need expensive parts or etc. And it looks way better than most (for me all) of todays automobiles !Aug 28, 2008
