Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Volkswagen Beetle?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 70 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.94% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,543 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Volkswagen Beetle's resale value?

The current average of $21,709 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,840 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy with less risk of overpaying, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying near the lower end of the range gives you more cushion against depreciation. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Volkswagen Beetle or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current value and owner satisfaction, the 2018 is the better starting point. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the lowest-priced, best-maintained listings rather than the model year alone.
