With the 302 bored .030 over and Boss 302 cam and better flowing heads this thing gets up and really hauls ass. There have been a few things I've had to fix, throw out bearing, rear-end, and now the transmission has givin up the ghost. That's the downside of having a muscle car. If it's fast and reliable it ain't cheap. Other than that it's been a blast to own and I'll probably keep it for a long time.Jan 22, 2010

I was gonna put a lil work into this car and then sell it. but after looking over the car. for a 79 the car is solid. so im gonna gut this thing out this spring and do a major over haul. gonna rebuild the motor and put in a new tranny. and im updating the interior to a 91 gt with custom guagesJan 12, 2010

its a 79 mustang with a 429, 650 holley carb, b&m shifter, nos, 10.5 in slicks. we have put a few different motors in it. It is now a Ofrd blue with black racing strips. the whole inside has been gutted out. Over all, the will run in the low 8's on a 1/8 mile track.Nov 28, 2009

It was a work in progress. I bought it for $150, put $50 into it, drove it to school the next day and someone bought it for $2000 cash money. So I never got to build it the way I wanted it. I got a lot of performance parts for it for dirt cheap from friends. A carb, intake, headers, etc...Oct 27, 2009

I am the seccond owner of the car, i love the body style and they have so much potential. Overall this car stock isn't very good at all because it is an american muscle car, but mine has all around independ suspension, 17 inch cobra rims, 9 inch rear, 347 stroker with holly 670 street avenger carb, hooker headers, weind intake, hooker exhaust with flomaster 40 series mufflers, with the origional paint and interior.Sep 08, 2008

Jul 12, 2008

I have a 1979 Mustang in fair condition. Has 75703 original miles. Needs some body work but a damn good strong motor and good interior. For the price I can't complain. I love it!!!!!!!!!May 18, 2008

This was my first true performance car. It had a Holley Webber 4 barrel carb. I had these huge 225 tires and with AER rims on the back. The back end was jacked up with a lift kit. It was a classic teenager deathtrap!Apr 23, 2008

it had the turbo badges and someone transplanted the 302 into it. Honestly it was hard to get the proper parts for it since it had everything smaller than the v8 cars. when it was all done it was very fast like any other 302 GT.Apr 05, 2008

It's an LX 5.0 package, came with the automatic, cruise, Tilt, A/C, and the premeium AM/FM 8-track with built in Amplifier. At 145hp it wasn't going to win any races but it has a solid nible feel to it. It's no longer stock, It cranks out approx 300-330hp now, and it will surprise the younger kids in thier newer 'stangs. I'm looking to install Cobra 4 wheel disc brakes under it sometime down the road. This is my life-time soulmate.Jun 27, 2007

Regular maintenance is a must for all cars, but the previous owner neglected this one. Slowly but surely I've replaced everything except the transmission.I've done all the work myself, & it was easy. Now I just drive it & check fluid levels, & never have to add or fix anything 'till the next service... except gas. To help traction I put on larger rear tires & a thicker sway bar.The car doesn't spin out now,& corners excellent without leaning. Good luck finding one... I've only seen a few left on the road. Plenty at the wrecker though. I never broke down once in 14 yrs. The car never left me stranded... Regular routine maintenance really works.Oct 05, 2006
