Its an old 4X4 but its got to be loved, trust me this big ride can and WILL run circles
around these late models in 2wd, i know because i've done it! It sounds great with
the dual cherry bombs, the classic ones! Cheap to fix and reliable for the most
part, not the prettiest, but it's not supposed to be.Aug 09, 2010

Loved it; miss it much. Replaced original 305 with a 350. Solid ride, good power, not very good gas mileage. Was a brown and white K5. A bit tall for me, could've used a grab bar too keep me from pulling up with the steering wheel. Had to rebuild the column twice. Replace starter 6 times due to poor design placement. Very close to headers. Even with heat shield, starter life was poor. Oct 08, 2009

Its got a 383 stroker. I got it from my dad. Hes had it for about 12 years. I have put on new brakes front and rear. New shocks. Axel shaft for the front. New water pump, fan clutch new exhaust welded up by my dad with cherrybomb glass packs. We plan to build up a new motor for the old girl new floor pans I got the doors hood and interior for her too. Big plans this year. Detroit lockers front and rear will be put in too....Jan 24, 2009

With the right tires, it rides on the highway the same as a big car. Throw on your mud tires lock in the hubs and its four wheel drive pulls like like an ox. Jun 17, 2008

I bought this Blazer about 5 years ago from an auction in New Mexico. The front end was wrecked so I rebuilt the whole thing. Then instead of normally painting it, I shot it with Hercu-liner (spray in bedliner). I did this because it was from the desert, and I didn't want it to rust being in the Northeast now, and then 2, because I knew I would want to off-road it, and didn't want to worry about scratching a nice paint job. Plus, I don't believe in owning a pretty truck.
The orignal motor was a Chevy 350 V8, which I blew up, and then replaced with another Chevy 350, which...well I blew that one up too....hehe. I then found a BigBlock 454 V8 that I think was out of a 72-73 Chevelle, Impala, or Vette. it has a mild cam, Edelbrock performer intake, 850cfm Holley double pumper carb, headers and a 3inch exhaust exiting out of glasspacks. I estimate it at about 400HP. So, it's bg, it's loud, and oh wow does it have some grunt!
It has been lifted with a 4 inch Rancho suspension lift and a 2inch body lift, and is currently sits on 38inch tall Toyo tires.
Other things that have been changed out is the rear end and the tranny too.
I'm almost always working on it, but I love the thing. I think future plans will be to strip it down and making it off-road only and hitting the mud-bogging pits with it.
Anyway, I love the look of the old Blazers, and they're some of the best offroad vehicles you can put your hands on. It's definitely a beast, and tends to scare peole pretty good too.Jun 03, 2008

4-bolt 350 V8, 9 inch of lift, dual shocks, 38,5X15X15 Gumbo monster mudder tires... Not street legal.
It costed me a fortune in temporary license plates ;)Mar 26, 2008
