Performance and appearance are getting better. Just finished the new engine and conversion to 5-speed transmission, am installing new interior now, paint and body are next.
This car was a blast to drive with the old tired engine, I can't wait to get it back on the road with the new engine.

The best car I ever owned, simple, very reliable, looked good and sounded lovely, especially with the roof down.
I had one for about 3 years, never serviced it, washed it and put (quite a lot) of petrol in it!
It was nice to drive, had good steering and was great fun in the wet, thanks to rear wheel drive and leaf sprung rear axle.
I never got the overdrive to work, which was a shame because it would quite happily tear up and down the motorways, it was a bit noisy in 4th though!Mar 28, 2009

Fun, fast, noisey, sleek, classic, convertable, cheap to fix, a hoot on country roads, cheeky looks, and cheap to tax and insure. These are the reasons that I bought one of these when I was 18 instead of what seemed like the obligatory citreon saxo/nissan micra. The best thing about it though? It made my mates who who had the cars mentiooned above a little bit jelous!! The only downside to it though? It has to be that if you drive it like a wanker it will most likely kill you. I cant think of a better way to go out though... in an explosion in the quintessenntial British sports enthusiasts car!Jun 10, 2008
