What can I say.... I was 20 when I bought this car for $2,800.! I had a blast driving it The R&P steering was perfect! Being only 20 yrs old, I did go threw some brakes... and got a couple of speeding tickets.... lol but I really did just loved the car. Even tho it's a small car, the construction was so;lid and when sitting inside, I felt I had plenty of protection around me. Gas was not expensive back then... lol Could drive many miles and not be uncomfortable.Oct 05, 2013

Kelly needed money to make her house payment,so I gave her the money and got the MG,And it was a decent car but just didnt have much appeal.Leg room was pathetic. When you got out and stood up you started to walk like a cripple...no personal insult intended,Im seventy five percent there now.Dec 07, 2011

Performance was a little on the low side. Engine did not have a lot of punch,
and was not too responsive. Had to anticipate actions in order not to feel left
without power. Build quality was rather poor. Unibody was rotted when I got
the car, and got worse with time. Constant minor maintenance necessary.
Other than the body rust thru it was a handsome car, and always drew
attention and positive comments. I've had cars more expensive and less
expensive to maintain. Advantage was it was my second car, and I could do
most of the work myself. It was probably the most fun driving I have ever
experienced. It was like driving a street legal go cart with enough power to
take out on the open highway. If I could find a vintage MG in reasonable shape
I would consider buying it.Apr 09, 2011

As with all early Leyland products, you love it for the hour you drive it just before you hate it for the two hours you work on it. BTW, mine was a GT model, a hardtop, with extras like an oil cooler, more gauges & the like. It was burgundy with a gold velour interior. Jul 11, 2009

I am sure it'll be awesome when it runs...lol. It is a DEEP dark purple paint with white convertible top and biscut tan interior. It hasn't cost me anything except for some to replacement parts in restoring it...LOL.Jan 04, 2009

This car was just the essence of classic British style. After 3 years of working on it, I got into decent shape. It was extremely easy to work on. Not really breaking down was the best part. As much as I beat it, it just kept on running. For a car with only 55 horsepower, it was a fun little car. Sep 14, 2008

When it runs, it's about as fun as it gets. A blast to drive around with the top down, and it even gets reasonable mileage. Repair costs are low, but the quantity adds up.Jun 23, 2008

I am 4th owner of this relatively solid British sports car. Engine is a bit tired and the body needs a bit of work--but it still looks presentable and has not cost much to operate. I have used it as my only transportation from Spring to Fall for the last 2 years, and my son George has used it for the month of November for these last 2 years.Feb 18, 2008

Old and creaky, but used to turn heads in its day. Nice engine sound though.Jan 10, 2008
