My Celica was the first car I owned, and I loved it. I paid $3000 for it brand new. Drove it for 150K, no joke, before it blew an oil seal and died. Farewell, old friend...I drove it from Chicago to Georgia when I was in the Army, then from there to SC, Ft Bragg in NC. When I was discharged, I drove my roommate home to upstate NY, then drove it from there to Ohio, then from there to Chicago. I noticed it had been a little hard to shift leaving Cleveland but I didn't think anything of it. When I turned into my parents' driveway, i couldn't back it up. The clutch died. it got me home safe and sound before it broke down! Had the clutch gone out on the road, I was a woman driving alone and that wouldn't have been cool. But I did have my trusty pistol in the glove compartment but didn't want to have to use it. My fiancee (then husband) drove it forever. He used to have to keep extra points and a feeler gauge in the car all the time. But it ran like a champ for years afterword. The engine was in beautiful shape even then: when I first bought it I misunderstood the manual and changed the oil and filter every six weeks like clockwork. Talk about true love!May 29, 2011

This was my third car, and what a great car it was! It was peppy, extremely dependable, cheap to drive. Started first turn every time, fun to drive, and a looker back than! White with a black vinyl top. Killed me when I had to sell it. I put over 100,000 miles on it. Jan 29, 2011

I had a 72 Celica my final 2 years of college in upstate New York. It had 2 flaws - it was made of rust and lost its voltage regulator evey few months (salt water leaking from the fender will do that. It was an absolutely dependable vehicle, it was sporty and it had a decent level of equipment. I loved that beast.Feb 19, 2009

I LOVED this car so much that when I sold it off, I missed it and never got over it. Many years later, I bought a second one. It was fun to drive, though a bit short on accessories. It was comfortable for a person of my size. I think a 6' foot person might have had a close call with the roof. Still would go for a third one if I could find it!Feb 02, 2008
