I couldn't stand a couple things on the car to begin with. One is the fake scoop on the rear quarters, so I had those replaced with '70 quarters(no fake scoops). The other was the sloppy steering. A Borgeson gearbox kit fixed it right up!May 14, 2015

First car. Was bought my grandparents restored it twice. Last time setup for drag racing Had 415 hp and a 150hp nitrous shot. Sold to friend from highschool and he is driving as a pleasure vehicle. Love the looks but preferred the fast back may own fastback in the future.Jan 24, 2015

Awesome styling & performance. One of the best examples of American muscle of all time.
Small block Ford with plenty of power. Great handling car for its day. The '69 was the only year for this front grill treatment which always stands out in a crowd.Oct 01, 2014

Absolutely love to drive this car. Old School. Can't really say it's safe to leave to my kids.I got it slightly trashed needed a lotof work, took the time spent $$$ Blue printed the Cleveland, came in at 11.5 to 1 comp. 365 HP Dyno'd at rear axle. Very fast, spooky torque curve from 2800 up to 6500 could leave a scratch at 65 mph. B&M kit, torrington needle beerings, torque Converter 11 inch holeshot. Needed 105 Octane aviation purple mixed with pump Ethyl.Nov 26, 2013

I bought it with 87K original miles on it from a little old lady (no, really) in 1998. Since then I have completely restored it and put another 55K miles on it. It has won 25 awards for excellence at various car shows and has been featured in a newspaper article as well as serving as a prop in a San Francisco Brides magazine pictorial (the bride and groom's getaway car) and being one of the month cars in a 2011 Mustang calendar. IMHO, this is the last of the first generation Mustangs that still looked like the original Mustang concept. The front end still has the deep set headlights in the front fender extensions characteristic of the breed, and the car still shares the same wheel base and floor pan with the original 1965 Mustang. In April, 2009 we took it on a caravan with Mustangs Across America from home (Fremont, CA then) to Birmingham, AL for the 45th anniversary of the introduction of the Mustang put on by the MCA (Mustang Club of America). The car did the whole 5,200 mile trip without a mechanical problem. We did get caught in a wind downburst on the way home east if Rawlins, WY, however, that sandblasted my poor baby and required about $7K in paint, chrome, stainless and glass. It also survived a snow storm in central Nevada on that trip that had us running in heavy white stuff from Battle Mountain, NV to Reno. The first photo is just before the sandblasting and the third photo is when it was repainted as a result. The car had zero rust when they stripped it to bare metal. It's a great car.Feb 21, 2013

The best of the mustang classic design, excellent appearance, with a 351
w, that gave me all the torque i need, not the best handling, because still

Grew up with this car. It has claimed the top spot as my all time favourite car. Lots of power, and its got a really mean look. argueably the second greatest thing, next to a Slayer concert, to cross my sights.Oct 20, 2011

It was my Dads car and it only has 23,500 on it. Lots of sentamental value, says enough. I inherited the car and have no plans on selling it. One day I will donate it a museum or give it back to Ford for thier museum.Apr 05, 2011

Great performance, shreds tires easily, gas mileage sucks, 6.5 in town, 11 on the road. Really gets attention everywhere you go. Maintenance is a snap, just have to pull the engine to change spark plugs,LOL. Love this car! It's totally awesome!!!!Mar 14, 2011

Timeless classic. My dad bought the car off of my friend's brother and it sat in the backyard pretty much unused for over 15 years. Two years ago I decided to get it fixed up thinking it would just take a new interior, engine rebuild, new paint and tires. What actually happened was putting in all new equipment.Apr 01, 2010

It's a 41 year old car. It needs a lot but hopefully soon I'll have all the mechanical stuff sorted out and be driving it. Changing the interior somewhat with modern seats for more comfort. Plan on changing the entire drivetrain to something modern and fuel injected.Mar 23, 2010

Stanger is the bomb... had her for 29 years! She took care of all us gurls growing up and still did Helmick hill every weekend! ACDC you shook me all night long shoved in the tape deck by TK, Heid or Denise then hit the hill at 90 catch a little air grab 2nd take the corner miss the tree turn around and do it again on the way down! Ha the good ole days! "No tamin this horse"! Feb 26, 2010

My dad and I spent 7 years restoring this thing from well beyond totaled! It's sharp now! So much for my college fund. I love the wow factor of when people see me drive around in it. Cruising with other classic cars is a blast too. Nothing like dragging the strip at 1 in the morning!Jul 03, 2009

The car has an amazing acceleration, the braking could be a little better, but that's normal for a car from 1969. The paint is still ok, the original red, but a new paint job is coming. The car is big fun to drive with, only it drinks a lot of gasolina ;)May 26, 2009

Acceleration great, braking is adequate, handling-well its 60's technology-so not so hot
Has had a complete overhaul, but it is 40 years old, and has been well used
It is the best looking of all the mustang body styles
Gas mileage is quite good for a muscle car, mainetance has been ok outside of the rebuild-that was pricey
The grin factor is high-hard not to look cool in the car-but was much more fun when I was younger-no AC or power steeringApr 25, 2009

Its a classic American Muscle car what more can be said to that? IT may take a lot of work which I can hate but its all worth it to know that I have done the work on it and I can do anything I want to improve it whenever I have the money. Its a one of a kind car.Feb 10, 2009

The 7 litre engines tarmac wrinkling torque will launch you like a bat out of hell - in a straight line - the car won't corner properly for all the toffee in the world due to that massive lump of cast iron up front.
Original classic car parts are expensive, Cobra Jet items ridiculously expensive, if available. There are a lot of reproduction parts that doesn't cost a fortune, some of them will even fit properly.
At least 25 litres of petrol per 100 kms. Not exactly the type of car to have if you are on a budget.
But ... it makes a lovely rumbling noise and turns heads like nothing else. It seems every man and woman on this planet has a Mustang memory to share.

The -69 Mustang is the best looking Mustang in my opinion. This is the year when ford got it all right! I've tuned my 351 windsor engine to approximately 400 hp so the fun factor is there too. My car hit the streets this year after a 3 year restoration. The only negative with this car is the gas milage but that doesn't matter when I get many more smiles per miles. Jul 30, 2008

I got my 69 Coupe when i was 15, I put a stock 302 2 bbl with a C4 auto, I also upgraded the 6 cylinder rearend to an 8 in. rearend and put 5 lug spindles on the front. I also put a set of long tube headers with a set of cherry bomb header glasspacks. I also took the front sway bar off to get better traction. To date I have outran my buddys 79 corvette with a 350 that has a 4 bbl holley with long tube headers, and a 70 something corvette who randomly tried to outrun me one night. It also gets 15 mpg in town.Jun 20, 2008

Bilen var orginalt gussjegrønn så jeg valgte å skifte farge når jeg fikk den lakkert. Motor var en V8- 302cid. Sinnsykt delig lyd. Kan anbefales for alle som har et hjerte for biler.

Although my Mach 1 used to be pretty modded (im restoring it back to its 390ci big block original shape) and wild, all Machs are badass and damn sexy, the fold down rear seats are always a cool spot to watch the stars after a hot summer night with your dates ;]Feb 01, 2008

I´ve always had 66 mustangs but a few years I bought a 69 sportsroof and I am in the process of a ground up restoration. This specific body style loos like a Muscle Car due to its side air scoops, huge back side and really long hood. What else do you want in a car from this era. It even has the big engine...Jul 06, 2007

My 69 Mach 1 is the love of my life. It is stock with the exception of 15" Torque Yrust wheels. The car has all the options except for speed control. I drive it all the time and it never misses a beat, Its a great car.Mar 10, 2007
