Many people haven't seen one of these in a long time and it seems to bring back good memories for a lot of folks. It is very fast - definitely a 'luxury muscle' car. It even has cruise control, remote trunk release, reclining power seat, pop-up headlights work... etc.Sep 02, 2014

As a kid I wanted my mother to get this 68 bird but my father was a chevy man, sorry dad,
I recommend this 1968 Ford Thunderbird 429cc as a classy classic
I traded a 1985 Red Corvette and feel I got more then my monies worth.
4 months of bartering from 1200.00 to the thunderbird

its a 1968 Ford Thunderbird with a very strong 429 4bbl with over 360 hp. It is all original other than wheels and the set of headers which everyone said could never be found yet found and installed. Paint is a 8 year old sunburst orange. Wheels are American Racing 235 45 17Feb 17, 2013

Great acceleration... 0-60 in under 10 sec, not
bad for a 4600lb car!
Solid build...suicide doors with an I-beam that
will destroy the front end of anything it hits.
Super fun to drive...It's great to know you have
more acceleration even when you are going 90mph!

My Brother-In-Law owed me $200, and was about to loose this car to a towtruck, so I assummed the responsibility of towing the car to my home and he'd sign over the title. I live in the rain forests of Washington State, and the back window had been broken for some time, not to mention the the two rubber drain tubes under the rear window had disintegrated.
No carpet, the headliner was hanging down on my head, no interior lighting, and a slew of other electrical and vacuume related issues awaited me in my garage. Finally got it running only to find out it has a cracked exhaust manifold.Oct 11, 2010

This car is sitting in the backyard of my parents house completely rusted out and the 429 that was its heart is sitting in the garage along with the C6 Transmission. The only reason this thing is still around is because of the 9 inch rear end thats still attached to it. Also its one of the rare four door Thunderbirds. It was purchased for 500 about 5 years ago. It's a 68 2 dr with a vinyl roof. Bought out of Virginia and has a current VA inspection. The paint is mostly gone what rust I see is only surface. The vinyl roof is sun rotted and will need to be replaced. All lights work and so do the flip up headlights. On the interior I'll need some inside door panels and the the seats need to be refoamed as you feel the springs when you sit in both seats. Headliner, and carpet looks decent for being 40 years old. This was delivered 2 days ago so I'm still going over the car! The motor is a 429 and sound real strong. Starts up a little hard and could use a new set of plugs.Jun 27, 2008
