The 65 Impala, being our first new car has always held a special spot in our memory and I later regretted letting it get away. We loved the new body style, it was easy to drive and seemed to "float" down the highway. Our son became an auto body guy and about 10 years ago found a '65 SS. He restored it, painting it the same color as our first Impala and gave it to us. Still a beautiful car.Jul 31, 2012

This car was built by American craftsmen and cannot be duplicated today. It is fast, Fun to drive and attracts a crowd wherever you drive it. I'm the third owner and she's a 'survivor' with mostly all original paint, original interior and drive-train. It's got the 300 HP 327 cu. in. V8 and Powerglide transmission. Factory air, tilt, tint, and vinyl roof.

Bought this in decent shape; the pic is where I'm headed, right now it is rusty white. Oil pump failed on the way to work early one morning and blew the motor. Searching for a 427, as nothing else will do!Jul 18, 2010

My mist blue metallic 1965 Impala sport coupe is a real nice ride.
It's all original with a 3 on the tree, 283ci V8.The only minor
improvements made to the car are 8 inch rally wheels, full roller
rocker arms, dual 2"5 inch Pypes stainless steel exhaust.May 03, 2010

Getting ready to lower 65 impala. All air ride tech. Probably 17"-18" wheels. May do an LS swap. Although Imps are awesome they lack in the power and handling so Im going to fix that. Good looks, nice ride, and a 14 second 1/4 will be perfect.Jan 02, 2010

Looks slow but goes fast, corners as well as a late
model sedan, big enough to cart 8 people around in
comfort, gets great gas milage on the open road, not
so good around town, heaps better than any ford.May 12, 2009

My first car.A white 65 Impala 4Dr. hardtop. Mint blue interior.I was 17 and so was she (the car)! Loved every mile I drove in it. I was her second owner.Handled like a big car...loved it. MPG pretty great as it was manual with 283cu in.Purred softly and never failed me.Soooo roomy and turned heads even though she was a sedan.Another time period inside her.Cheap to own and insure.I put 35K miles on her in 2.5 years.I had to sell her as I joined the USAF. Will always miss her!Mar 18, 2009

They dont make them like they used to. This car is invincible. Its made out of something called "metal." This car is so simple and fun to work on. I just love the 60s styling. This car makes you feel like you are in a different time. The Impala is Huge! It is as long as my 79 long box chevy pickup. Inside I can sit in the back seat and spread my feat out. The trunk is massive. I love this car. Its handling wasnt really that great, and the performance wasnt to shabby considering how heavy it was. I had a 350 with a 4 barrel and headers. Would buy another one. Wish I hadnt sold it.Jan 23, 2009

Super Sport, 2dr hardtop. It was ten years old, but still a solid performer. It had a 327ci-300hp engine and a factory four speed transmission. Very quick for such a large car. White with white interior. When I got married, I sold it to my brother, who eventually traded it to a friend, who promptly totalled it out. A real shame. It was a nice car. Aug 20, 2008

This was my gift for graduating High School with all A's and perfect attendance. Its a 1965 Super Sport, has the original 327 V8, Muncie 4 speed, and GM 12 bolt out back. It has headers and roller rockers and an Edelbrock carb, but other than that its original. I am trying to get it back to close to original condition.May 27, 2008

I purchased my 1965 Impala SS convertible in 1975 when I was only 17 years old. I am the 2nd owner and have owned the car for the last 41 years and it remains totally stock. As I live in British Columbia, I have only driven it in the summer months. At 162,000 miles, the 283 V8 engine and 2 speed power glide are original and are running well and still in great shape. The flowing lines of the 65 are beautiful and these cars were designed to be comfortable crusing at 60 mph all day on the freeway. I will never sell this vehicle as it was my first car that I fell in love with, used at my highschool graduation, has been displayed in numerous car shows and parades, and driven all my adult life. This car turns heads everywhere it is driven. In short, one of the finest and durable vehicles designed and built by General Motors.Jan 07, 2008

This 1965 Chevy Impala was my first car that I bought in 1971. The exterior color was burgundy. The body was a 2-door hard-top with chrome bumpers, grille and chrome trim accents. The tires were wide and the wheels were chrome with baby moon hubcaps. The engine was a 283 ci. V8 with dual exhaust and chrome tips. The interior was black leather with all the chrome moldings on the inside too. The front seat was a bench seat to keep my sweetie close to me at all times. This car was a crusier....not a racer. The car rode smooth which I liked and the shifter was on the column (out of the way..ha!). I am planning to buy another one if it matches these same specs.Jan 12, 2007
