This car is so much fun !!!
The car has a lot of power, but cruising is the best way to drive this beast !
The Big Block V8 loves to drink a lot, but believe me it is worth it !
Fun Factor is too high to describe in this text !Aug 12, 2012

The car should have come with a front or rear spoiler to help hold the front end down. The car will easily do 130-140 mph but one would lose the car before it got that fast. Stopping with 4 drum brakes would be impossible at that speed. It takes considerable leg strength and a LONG lead time to stop the car from 70. However the car is easy to drive even though visibility is limited due to the long sail panels. It was a great car in its day but lacks a lot of things for anyone not used to old style engineering. A young driver who never drove anything older than a 1985 would probably end up in a wreck in short order.Jul 12, 2012

The first year of the Dodge Charger. This one had a 318 so it was not powerful by any means, but was a sweet ride none the less. Solid built car with sleek design for 1966. Gas mileage, handling and etc was what you could expect for a small V-8 in 1966. This one needed some work to restored yet, and a Hemi would have been alot better than a 318. Fun car to drive and lots of room even with the 2 plus 2 buckets.Nov 16, 2011

Has manual drum brakes, power steering, a 360 with a stock board and a mild street cam, an Edelbrock 600 carb, three speed manual on the column, Headmen Hedders, Purple Horny exhaust. It gets like 17 mpg on the highway. It if very fun to drive.Nov 17, 2009

Right now its a rolling shell
Have a supercharged 440 for it with a weiland 671 blower.
Its gonna be sweet when I get the money to get it done.
Right now its stripped down and needs paint for me to continue on the restoration of the car.Oct 27, 2009

My first car was a 1966 Dodge Charger with a big block 383. When my parents gave me the car it needed a new engine, transmission, brakes, front end kit, etc...I learned and enjoyed building this car so much; I ended up going to school for auto mechanics. Although not the fastest, best looking or greatest handling car I ever owned, the 1966 Charger will always have a special place in my heart.Dec 20, 2008

Hello, I am 43 and live in Rockford Illinois. The first car that I can remember my Dad having was a Brillian Red 1966 Charger with the 426 Hemi and a 4 speed manual. When he was driving it around on the weekends back then, people absolutely stopped and stared. It is a very original design, and this body style has been almost forgotten. I haven't seen many in the "cruise nights" around here. I didn't understand this machine until several years after my Dad passed. When I see one, (especially in Red) my heart skips. (Ever see "Big Fish?) Check it out, that car was my Dads model and color. I flipped out. My only vintage car wish is a "66 painted red. All interior options, motor not a big deal. When in premo shape these cars still make people stop and stare. Are these models "66 and "67 rare? Dont see many up here in No. Ill. Send me your pictures as I love this car and always think of Dad when I see a red one. THANKS!!! JIMBO66Nov 24, 2007

I bought a brand new 1966 Dodge Charger, 426 dual four hemi; in lateer years I rebuilt the engine about three times, last time we added a 30/30 roller Cam; headers and 3 1/2 inch chrome pipes that extended visably along and just past the front door. I had the car painted with a metallic Maroon color with Craiger SS Gold Mags and cheetah slicks over 9 inches wide on the rear. Then we redid the interior with diamond pleats and turned the Oct 06, 2006
